Man proposes to girlfriend using makeshift 'Llama ring' — turns out it's better than the original ring

A proposal is a timeless moment, a question that holds the weight of the future, and words that transform into lifelong promises. A Reddit user, u/mojojoooo, shared the story of her unforgettable proposal during the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, captivating the internet with its charm.

"My boyfriend proposed during the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu! He told me the ring didn't arrive in time before we left for Peru, so he had to improvise and ended up proposing with a llama ring instead!" the caption of the post read, which was posted along with the photo of her hand against the misty background. People in the comment section couldn't stop talking about the gesture.

Proposals are always special, but they become even more unique when inspired by a couple's adorable traditions. Such is the story of another cute couple, John Cox and Julie Massey, who run a couple's page on TikTok called @lifewithjohnandjulie. The two were at their favorite Waffle House in Carrollton, Georgia, to celebrate Valentine's Day, which they did every year. However, this time around, it was a bit special as Cox popped the big question. The video began with Massey seated on her chair, dressed in a cute red sweatshirt, facing down in front of the camera. She can be seen focusing on slicing her dessert with a fork and a spoon. As Massey was relishing a fresh waffle platter, Cox quipped, "Now look, it takes a real man to make Waffle House romantic, baby."

Massey is seen smiling and playfully nodding yes as she turns sideways. She left her fork on the plate and gasped. Cox caught her by surprise by asking the question in the middle of their meal. "I just have one question: Will you marry me?" he asked her. He then presented her with a plate containing a golden brown waffle and a cute little black velvet box. The box contained a ring.

"I will marry you," she mused, this time a bit louder. "Okay," he exclaimed, laughing. "Are you gonna show the ring...the Waffle Ring?" he asked. Massey picked up the box and displayed it to the camera, saying, "Oh, it's beautiful, the Waffle Ring! Oh, baby, it's gorgeous. You got me all verklempt!" she added.
