He emphasizes the importance of respect for women and confronts the stranger in both English and Spanish.
There’s no denying that technology has made lives easier, more comfortable and more convenient. However, there’s a downside to the fast-paced lives that we’re all consuming and living today. Privacy becomes scarce. When it comes to our personal lives, private information or photographs, there’s no guarantee that someone out there isn’t clicking, recording or scamming us. A recent viral TikTok video shared by @paymckitt shows a man wearing a purple t-shirt in a feud with another man seen wearing a red cap. The man in the red cap was caught red-handed by the man in purple for sneakily taking pictures of his fiance.
The video begins with the man in purple holding up the stranger’s phone and telling him that he’s been caught making videos and taking pictures of his fiance. The man in the red cap tries to defend himself in Spanish and touches the guy’s arm. He reacts by saying, “Don’t f**king touch me! Back up! Back up! Stand over there!” The man in purple then scrolls through the phone and turns to a Costco employee asking him to get a worker over there. The stranger tries cajoling him again and touches him, upon which the man reiterates, “Stop touching me! Stop touching me! What you’re doing is f**king disgusting. You’re f**king disgusting, stop touching me!”
He then turns to show his fiance the photographs that are stored on the phone. The man in purple is evidently frustrated but can be seen keeping his calm and handling the situation in the best possible way. He angrily questions the stranger, “How many other women do you do this to? How many other women? You’re lucky I have respect ‘cause any other man would’ve knocked you out right now!” The other Costco shoppers can be seen passing by and noticing the ongoing quarrel between the two men.
The stranger can then be seen trying to take his phone away, but the man in purple isn’t having it. Meanwhile, the stranger is still trying to persuade the guy in Spanish for a resolution to which the man replies, “I caught you, that’s it. That’s it. Let’s stop talking. There’s nothing you’re gonna say to me. Alright? You gotta have respect! You gotta have respect for women.” He then switched to Spanish to converse and said, “Well, that’s my future wife right there. So if you have respect for your wife, you should have respect for mine. No! You ain’t getting this back. I’m gonna show this to the worker and then gonna get you kicked out of Costco. You’re disgusting as a man! As a man, you’re disgusting. You’re f**king disgusting.”
The man then walks ahead to show the pictures on the phone to others and their reaction is in support of him. They ask him if he would like them to call the cops, to which he replies, “It’s technically not illegal to be taking pictures, I mean.” Finally, a Costco senior employee comes in to review the situation and after informing him, the man acknowledges that the phone is private property and then goes on to delete the photographs before giving the phone back.
The video has gone viral on Reddit as well and support poured in from Reddit users who commented with advice regarding the possibility of the photos still being backed up in the trash folder. They also went on to share that the guy handled the situation with great patience and the same wouldn’t have been true in case it had happened to one of them.
