James Rogers III, aka Jr (@jamesearl23), found himself in a hilarious predicament after his twin aunts, who were set to celebrate their sixtieth birthday together, had a falling out. The result? Two separate birthday parties on the same day—and family members being asked to pick sides.

In the viral thread, James opened up about a major falling out between his twin aunts. “My aunts (who are twins) were going to have a joint 60th birthday party, but they got into a fight. Now they’re having two separate parties on the same day and asking everyone to choose,” the post with over 24 million views read. The tragedy turned into a laugh riot after the Los Angeles-based writer shared the plot twists, adding that the dispute was over something as silly as an undecided menu for the celebrations.

James decided he’d attend both parties—one hosted by Aunt A on a boat, the other by Aunt B at her house. Just when he thought he had it all planned out, another twist came. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but... a third birthday candidate has entered the chat: my uncle,” the X creator told his 16.7K followers. According to James’s plans for the day, he’d first be visiting the yacht and thereafter the hood, before crashing out. The man even posted the sparkling and shining separate 60th birthday cards, indicating that his twin aunts were in no mood to mend ties.

Meanwhile, James' uncle decided that he would not join auntie A’s ship and instead would celebrate with auntie B. “My uncle’s birthday is in five days, so he decided that Auntie B’s party is now a joint party for the two of them,” the bizarre thread revealed further. Since his uncle and aunt joined hands, James chose to be with the other aunt, who was literally trying hard to keep her birthday celebrations “floating.”

“So I'm going to swing by the Titanic (it’s docked!) because I hate to see sibling American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) bullying like this!” Jr wrote. When some comments asked about his mother and elder sister’s plan, the man fired back: “the boat and the boat only.” He even changed his outfit twice on the highly anticipated day, in an effort to match the UNO deck cards his mother urged him to bring along. The writer posted a screengrab of the message exchange between him and his mom about the same.

But at the last minute, James' mom switched sides due to what he called “unforeseen circumstances.” “My mother is now going to Aunt B’s house party instead of the boat, so I guess that’s where I’m going too,” the man informed after getting blasted with a phone call.
