He berated a bartender for charging $17 for '$4 drinks.' Minutes later, security kicked him out before he could even take a sip

Karma always finds its way back, and Jaime Steck (@jaimiesteck), a bartender, experienced a striking example of just that. It all started when a rude customer misunderstood the offer and shouted at her for charging extra on a $4 drink. The man repeatedly tried to humiliate her until his friend corrected him, and left him red-faced. Steck chose not to react and let it slide. However, two minutes later, the customer misbehaved again, forcing the bar's manager to set him straight. Posted on July 7, 2026, her video has received over 16,000 views on TikTok. 

Discount drama

That particular night, the bar offered a special discount on drinks — $4 for a single shot and $8 for a double. A woman arrived at the bar and ordered a double vodka soda and a double whiskey and Coke. As per the offer, Steck charged her $17. But one of the men from the lady's group began yelling at the bartender for charging them extra. Steck tried to explain, but he refused to listen to her. The bartender could tell that he was looking down on her. Finally, one of the man's friends chipped in and shouted at him, saying he'd clearly misunderstood the offer. The rude customer then begrudgingly gave Steck a $20 bill, and she immediately returned his change. The man gave her a dirty look as if she were wrong. 

The instant karma

Two minutes after the man got his drink, he got up on the podium where one of Steck's coworkers was performing, and began dancing inappropriately next to her. He was trying to whisper into her ear, and Steck could see that the other woman was visibly uncomfortable. When her coworker got down from the box, Steck described that his bheavior had started getting worse "...And who ends up walking by right at that exact moment, almost face-to-face with this guy's gyrating manhood? My manager." The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Security immediately kicked them out, and Steck added that the man who tried to stiff her was yelling that he just bought his drink. She concluded, "That was just the behavior that he was exhibiting without any sort of influence. Wild."

Is karma real?

Speaking of 'karma,' a 2022 YouGov survey revealed that 55% of American adults believe in it. Moreover, 34% strongly agreed that everything happens for a reason, and 29% agreed that everything is interconnected. Another poll conducted by Statista in 2019 found that 31% of Americans strongly believed in karma, while 10% do not believe in it at all. Now, Steck, the server, was a believer and was fortunate to see karma work in real time.

Just not under any alcohol influence

There was a mix of thoughts and opinions in the comment section. One person asked why two doubles were almost $50. @dblonde7 commented, "So how would it be $50 for two doubles? Maybe 30, but good lord, y'all upcharge!" @heatherschwartz45 wrote, "God, what you all put up with."
