Imagine a blind man seeing the colors of the world for the first. That's how it might be for an alcoholic person stepping into sobriety. There's a lot more to life than sparkling drinks and the dreadful hangover and those who have given up the unhealthy lifestyle might understand it. The newfound clarity opens up a life full of genuine happiness and sound physical and mental health. So when wellness content creator, Dr. Alex George who goes by @dralexgeorge on TikTok decided to give up alcohol nearly two years ago, a newer, brighter, and healthier life awaited him.

Speaking about his sober lifestyle, George pointed out that he was still maintaining it and there were several perks to it. "There is literally no greater joy than getting up on a Saturday morning without a hangover," he said as he walked among nature. "On a day like this, when the sun is shining, I'm out with my dog. Just the most amazing feeling," he added. Rather than being curled up in bed with a hangover headache and aversion to anything that smells like food, George found himself enjoying the sun strolling in the outdoors. He also loved being able to meet and chat with like-minded people while on a walk with his dog.

"Waking up with no hangover, not feeling anxious, not feeling like, 'Oh my Gosh! What happened last night?' or 'God! I can be rough all day today,'" George said, reveling in the joy of a stress-free day. He says that what truly matters is the "simple things in life" like having a nice morning. Unlike what's glorified by society - the "adrenaline" lifestyle - the man values "peace and calmness" which he felt are so underrated. "Sometimes, because we're not used to peace and calmness when you stop drinking initially or you have a change in your lifestyle, you feel like, 'Oh my God! I'm missing something.' Nope!" emphasized George.

The wellness content creator highlights that it is significant to be in the present rather than worrying about what parties or night-outs we're missing out on. "Everything you need is out here. Look at it - the sun shining. It's gorgeous!" he pointed out. He then added that he was going to ride a motorbike, go to the gym, eat good food and watch a "Harry Potter" movie - all because of his sobriety. On a typical day before giving up drinking, weekends would've been filled with party plans but now, George looks forward to a slow morning and a peaceful day ahead. "Hangover-free Saturday, no better feeling," he captioned the video which has over 22000 views in 3 days. People couldn't agree more with George.

"Love this. Even thinking about drinking makes me anxious these days," said @mumsgonemadkids. "I love simple days - going out to relax, think, enjoy the atmosphere, then come home and watch a good movie and 'Harry Potter,' better," remarked @mariajoseline14072. "On my second week of no drinking and feeling the benefits already. Trying to convince my partner," chimed in @samfoxall2. "I’ll be 2 years and 7 months sober on Tuesday. It really is the best thing I ever did. My only regret is I didn’t do it sooner," added @_marina_sophia.
