Boyfriend appeared disappointed by girlfriend’s ‘tiny box’ gift — until a million-year-old dinosaur tooth fell out

The act of gifting involves listening, thoughtfulness and a whole lot of love and this woman wrapped it all in that tiny box.

The size of a gift doesn’t matter as much as the thought behind it. A woman named Skarlett Ann (@official.ghost.girl) did some serious brainstorming before she could finalize what to give her boyfriend for Christmas. In a TikTok video, the woman revealed that he was a dinosaur fan and decided to give him something fitting. She gave him a pair of pants which he loved, but before he could open his other gift in a seemingly tiny white box, he seemed a little disappointed. That faded the quickest when he realized what lay inside was just one of the best things ever.

@official.ghost.girl it was so hard to keep it a secret but i would do it again just to see his smile 🤍@Offbrand Vessel I GOT IT AT @FossilEra https://www.fossilera.com and it was $32.85 total #dinosaur #spinosaurus #christmastok #couple #couplegoals ♬ sonido original - V

Ann mentioned that the man loved the pants so much that he immediately put them on and excitedly sat down to see the next item. He was handed a white box — a tiny thing, no name, nothing too fancy. It seemed like some showpiece or figurine with fragile packaging. He was confused and not too excited after judging the wrapping. When he opened the box, out came the tooth of his favorite dinosaur, a "spinosaurus." Within moments, he turned into the most excited little kid ever. “You did not!” he exclaimed, staring into the face of Ann, who was already smiling away. If you ever watched “Me Before You,” he just received an equivalent of Louisa Clark’s “bumblebee tights.”

The woman handed him a couple of stickers and the info card, and he excitedly jumped on his bed before taking a solid look at it. With his jaw wide open throughout the unwrapping, he couldn’t help but focus on his gift, with a second to spare to look at his girlfriend, wondering if it was even real. A kid opening his gift on a Christmas morning to realize he got just the toy he asked for? That was this man’s reaction. Watching his “inner child take over” was one of the best feelings for Ann. She couldn’t stop smiling at the moment she had created. According to a study published by Sage Journals, giving the right gift involves two-way thinking. It's important to consider not just what seems like a good gift but also what the other person prefers. The study highlighted a few “gift-giving errors,” and suggested what to do instead. For instance, instead of giving a "desirable" gift like an attractive dinner set or an expensive set of jewelry, try giving a "feasible" one like tickets to a game, a gift card so they can get something they actually want, or a sweater that would be used in the winter regularly. Instead of giving “instant gratification” gifts, try higher-quality ones that can journey with the recipient over time.

At the end of it, how much value the gift holds for the receiver determines how much they will like the gift. Ann knew her boyfriend was crazy about a spinosaurus and picked something accordingly, and the idea of having and owning it is baffling to him. @driddick5.3 wrote, “As a man, if my woman got me the tooth of my favorite dinosaur, I’d bawl my f**king eyes out, and I’m not even ashamed to admit that.” @alexysbrooke added, “To be loved is to be seen.”
