Man demands divorce from unsuspecting wife. Starts begging her to take him back once she agrees to move on

Similarly, a man from the UK walked down the same route after filing for divorce “out of the blue” and later asked his wife to work on their marriage. The wife–who goes by u/THROWRAgreeneduck on Reddit–now seeks an honest opinion on whether she should forgive him or move on for the better.

The 31-year-old wife has her divorce proceedings ongoing with her 32-year-old husband. She said her husband is “begging” to take him back after all the drama and suffering. Despite thinking their relationship had a solid foundation, the wife was proved wrong when her partner handed her divorce papers a few months back. “I was blindsided and stared at the paper for ages, hoping I'd read a line saying ‘gotcha!’ or something,” the heartbroken spouse wrote. Also, she added that instead, she simply asked him, "Why?"

All this while, the wife was trying not to burst into tears. Her husband, trying to dodge eye contact, justified his stance by explaining that their bond was growing apart. He further explained that the love part was missing in their relationship. “I felt so heartbroken, but at the same time, I was also angry that he'd never spoken to me about his issue,” the wife said, feeling betrayed by him not considering a chance to fix things.

“I told him that, and he became defensive, telling me that was how he felt and I had to deal with it. He went to bed, and I slept on the couch,” the wife said. It happened due to their professional commitments and the wife’s father’s terminal illness diagnosis. “I could see where he was coming from about the distance, but every time we were together, it was never addressed,” she explained further. She kept thinking for quite some time until finally realizing it was not worth spending the rest of her life with someone who did not love her back.

The divorce proceedings upset her supportive family. “However, my mother and father-in-law both texted me long messages about giving their son a second chance months ago,” remarked the woman. Now, the couple is living separately, with the husband moving to his brother’s place. “We’ve had a good relationship the entire divorce—it’s been cordial and polite, which is all I can ask for it to be,” she said.

Moreover, the husband was moving ahead in his life with a blind date planned amid their separation. Finding it to be hurtful, the woman said, “I accepted it because our relationship was as good as over.” However, a twist came her way last week when her husband, along with his brother, showed up on the doorstep unexpectedly. “My husband was crying and begging for me to take him back. He kept saying he'd loved me all this time and had made a terrible mistake. The whole thing felt so weird, and I ended up telling them both to leave and closed the door,” the post read.

The husband went on with his meltdown, filling his wife’s phone with crying voicemails, leaving her best friend with the assumption that he got dumped by that blind date.
