While it's considered chivalrous for men to pay on the first date, the practice has always been an endless debate. Perhaps a 50/50 split might be the best for both? Well, not every time. TikTok user Brookeyyy (@brookeyyycookie) posted a video highlighting the entitlement of men during a recent night out.

She recently took to the platform to recount a "dinner from hell" where her date not only asked to split the bill, but he demanded it even before they had ordered a glass of water. After agreeing to the deal, she watched him rack up a massive tab ordering appetizers, main course, and even dessert. Meanwhile, she sat sipping on a single beverage. Fast forward to when the bill came, the man asked her, "We're still splitting, right?"

The sheer audacity required to even utter those words while you've been indulging in a literal feast is truly incomprehensible. Fortunately, this woman refused to be a doormat, standing her ground and making it crystal clear that she would be covering absolutely nothing beyond the single beverage she actually consumed. However, the man didn't stop just yet. That's because he went on to point out that this is not how splitting works. To which the girl replied, "It does tonight," putting the cash on the table and ending the date for good.

Roughly 69% of U.S. adults admitted to feeling uncomfortable on a date because of how much it will cost, and 68% say they stress about money when organizing a date, according to a recent survey conducted on behalf of Self Financial. Nonetheless, that's not even the most surprising part, given the inflation, rather it's nearly 57.7% people have asked for refunds or contributions after a bad first date. Luckily, this guy saved himself from this embarrassment.

In the meantime, several TikTok users rallied behind this girl in her support. "You split when you both order the same thing," @user8780516781297 wrote in the comments. Meanwhile, @French Fries Flow BEFR revealed that she has also been a victim of such a weird stunt. "This happened to me too! The guy called me cheap for paying my own share and not splitting 50/50, after he ordered all the expensive stuff."
