Man asked his date why she kept describing him as 'interesting' all night. Her bizarre reply made him question dating altogether

First dates can be nerve-wracking; wondering what questions to ask without getting too personal can be confusing. However, Pres' (@777pres) date had no problems with that. On November 30, 2025, he shared his crazy first date experience. Things were going well at the beginning, but after she kept calling him "interesting," he asked her to explain. Instead of beating around the bush, her direct question made him reconsider dating altogether. His video has since received 1.7 million views, 238,100 likes, and 9,016 comments. 

Interesting compliment

Pres started the video by saying, "Yeah, so I don't think I'm ever going on a date again, guys." He explained that things were "cool" between him and his date. She even complimented him for being funny and called him "interesting." However, after she kept repeating the same "compliment" over and over again, Pres decided to ask what she meant by "interesting." He was not ready for what she was about to say.

Way too direct

Pres' date was hesitant for a few seconds, and then she asked, "Uh, I don't know. Do you have autism?" He was shook, stunned, and speechless. He had no idea how to respond to her. He couldn't believe the question that came out of her mouth, and that too on a first date. He proceeded to say in the video, "I don’t have autism. Well, I might." However, he defended himself, saying his date’s question caught him completely off guard and that he wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond.

Uncomfortable first dates

Awkward first dates are hardly unusual. A 2025 YouGov survey found that 50% of Americans who have been on dates say they’ve experienced at least one terrible one. Pres’ date certainly seemed to qualify after a compliment about being “interesting” turned into a question he never expected. Besides, compliments are not always what they appear to be. A Hily survey found that 12% of men brush off compliments on a date because it made them uncomfortable. However, the majority (71%) did not, and 17% were not sure if they did anything after being complimented.

Correct questions

People in the comment section found the story hilarious but at the same time asked Pres what he said or did that made her ask him the question. @natpzx wrote, "We’re missing the part where you tell us what you were doing or saying." @themarshamoment shared, "I’ve asked a man this lol. He was in the medical field and was very intrigued by the question and wanted me to explain why I thought that. I did, and he understood. It was a good conversation."
