He made his mailbox smaller every day until his mailman noticed. Then came a huge surprise on day 16

Every morning, postal workers mostly follow a predictable routine, driving the same routes and stopping at the same houses. However, this monotony can become surreal comedy when unexpected changes occur. This was the case for one postman when popular YouTuber Charles Ross (@VlogCreations) made his mailbox smaller without him noticing. While he did pick up on this trend, he decided to play along. On day 16, things took an unexpected turn in the clip posted on 24 December, 2025. The video has received over 3 million views on his channel.

The hilarious prank

Well, initially, the postman delivered and picked up the mail unfazed. However, soon he struggled to deliver the letters as the mailbox kept getting smaller. Nonetheless, he continued to deliver the mail with a smile. Day after day, Ross continued replacing the mailbox with one that was newer and smaller than the previous one, but nothing could stop the postman from doing his job. For the first few days, the mailman hardly noticed the change, but on day 6, when he finally did, he wasn't angry; in fact, he decided to play along — doing what was needed.

Tweezers to the rescue

After a week, Ross decided to continue his prank until the postman stopped delivering letters or taking out the mail. But he was surprised when the postman didn't stop doing either until day 16. By day 9, people in the neighborhood had also started to notice Ross' shrinking mailbox, but the postman remained unaffected and continued doing his job. In fact, he was so engrossed in the prank that he even took a picture of the tiny mailbox. "These guys are awesome," the postman confessed, quite impressed by the YouTuber's dedication. On day 14, he could not fit the letter in the tiny box, so he put it in the big delivery box. The postman even struggled to get the mail out, so he carried a pair of tweezers with him.

The big surprise

Following this, Ross knew he had to switch things up, as he could no longer get a smaller mailbox. So, he decided to take things in the polar opposite direction. On day 16, he constructed the world's biggest mailbox. It was so huge that it needed a crew to install it, leading up to the grand finale of this prank. On the final day, the postman shows up, spots the conveniently placed ladder nearby, and cheerfully climbs up, takes out the mail, and even sets the flag. Thus earning himself the status of being an absolute legend, as the curtains draw on this epic video.

One in a million postman

While this postman continued to deliver the mail despite all the challenges, that's not always the case. In fact, it's quite the opposite. That's because, according to InPost, about 83% of adults in the UK who receive a parcel have had at least one issue with the delivery. Although there are several reasons for this feeling, the top reason seems to be the parcel being kept in the wrong places, with about 40% people being unhappy with it. This is followed by other concerns such as doorstep theft (39%), exposure to bad weather (37%), and lastly, sudden time-slot changes (36%). It may seem that complaining about these issues would solve the problems, but it's not quite that simple. That is because only 48% users who face problems raise a complaint about it. But why not everyone? Well, as it turns out, according to another study by Consumer Scotland, 61% of people who do make complaints to the operator find the entire process too overwhelming to deal with.

Meanwhile, reacting to Ross' hilarious prank, @cthoneybadger commented, "I need closure, need to interview that mailman! The fact that he was having fun with the prank too, made it awesome." At the same time, @MrViniciusMachado suggested, "I felt it lacked a proper ending. I was hoping to see him arrive again and you all welcoming him with a surprise party and some kind of prize. That would have been really cool."
