'One of my besties is a lasagna! I can't wait to show her!'
Children's innocent misinterpretation of words often leads to comical situations for parents. Something about their very straightforward understanding of certain words can be quite hilarious. @itsgoneviral recently posted a very funny conversation between a dad and his son about a certain word. The reposted video has gained a lot of traction on the site, with 3.5 million likes and 38.5K comments on the social media site. It has a text overlay that reads, "How does he even know that word?"
In the video, viewers can see the father facing the camera, saying, "Can you ask me again, what you just asked me?" He mentions that he wants to hear the question again because he didn't hear his son initially. The toddler nonchalantly responds, "When can we have lesbian?" The father tries very hard not to laugh when hearing this, looking away and clenching his lips. He explains that he perhaps did hear him right the first time.
He goes on to say, "I don't know what that is, sweetie. I don't know what you mean." The boy loudly exclaims, "Lesbian!" The father almost breaks down laughing and clarifies that he knows what he said but that the word probably had a different meaning. The boy explains, "It's like spaghetti." The man finally realizes what his son is saying and inquires, "Do you mean lasagna?"

The boy affirms and his dad tells him that they could have lasagna soon. He is very happy to hear this and tries his best not to laugh as the video ends. People loved the kid's interpretation of the word and shared their thoughts in the comments section. @slinkysprinkles shared, "One of my besties is a lasagna! I can't wait to show her." @booya54321 commented, "Some people will identify as lasagna moving forward."
Something similar happens with kids as they try to put together meaningful sentences and end up making a lot of errors. Educators and parents serve as constant mentors, helping children learn the proper methods of expression. Occasionally, they are asked to write essays to improve their sentence-making skills by recounting their life events. Such an exercise also allows them to test their imaginative capabilities. u/EclecticMermaid recently posted a photo of their son's school assignment, expressing excitement over finally having something to share.
Titled "My son's schoolwork," the post leaves viewers puzzled at first glance, but we should note that it was written by a third-grade kid. The assignment asked students to write about a personal experience they had and to organize their thoughts in the correct order. This resulted in a concise but evidently confusing response from the boy.
The parent provided a rough translation in the post so that people could understand what the child had written. It read, "When I was a baby, my mom was holding me, my papa took a picture of me. When I was a child in first grade 1, I accidentally sat on the lunchbox table (I think?) In 2nd grade, Mrs. [redacted] class went to a park and a person said the F word. In 3rd grade, I'm good." People found the post quite funny, and as a result, it has got 5.3K upvotes and 109 comments on the site.
