There have been many cases where children were attacked or abducted right off the front porch of their houses. So it naturally alarmed people in the r/MadeMeSmile Reddit community when u/mindyour posted a video captured from a household's doorbell camera. The brief video captured a scene that was initially shocking, and the title made it seem even more ominous. In the clip, a little girl can be seen running up to the house and screaming out to her mother for help. She repeatedly turns around and speaks to someone, yelling at them to stop following her.

The entity she was interacting with and running away from remained out of the frame until the last few seconds. The little girl banged her fists on the front door, and as her mom hurried to rescue her from any potential danger, she soon noticed who was following her daughter. A flock of ducks had appeared out of nowhere, tailing the little girl. The mom burst into laughter, telling her daughter to wait in their car as the girl ran toward the driveway of their home.

The ducks waddled across the lawn as the mom burst into laughter upon realizing the hilarious truth. It turns out it wasn't an assailant following the young girl, but a gentle flock of ducks. The little girl kept her distance from the ducks while her mother locked the front door, giggling at the chaos. People in the Reddit community who were gravely concerned for the safety of the girl let out a breath of relief when they realized she was only running away from a harmless bunch of birds.

u/Rett_77 joked, "Listen, as a kid who was attacked by a malicious herd of geese over a loaf of bread, that girl reacted appropriately." u/TV800 commented, "I thought this was the wrong sub for a second. Expecting something completely more aggressive." u/Ancient_Rex420 wrote, "I had a range of emotions watching this. From read the title and expected something else but then I also saw I was in u/mademesmile and confusion set in and the video finished." u/Party-Marsupial-8979 quipped, "I watched this on silent first and I’m like what the heck, imagine being followed and then ducks casually appearing throughout the traumatic situation, only to watch it again on loud and realize it was the ducks following her."

u/Royal_Marketing2966 noted, "Side note, why did she have to knock on her own door? Did she not go inside because she couldn’t or simply wouldn’t? One answer has me concerned, the other has me menacingly laughing." u/Malibucat48 added, "When we lived in the country there was a big field between our house and the neighbors. The school bus would pick up the kids in front of our house and drop them off in front of the neighbors. The mom called me one day because a crow was attacking my daughter as she was trying to cross the field and couldn’t get home. I had to go out and get her. Birds can be scary to kids and can hurt them. This mom laughed but it wasn’t funny to her daughter."
