The daddy’s girl and mama’s boy concept has been prevalent in society for quite some time. For several reasons, dads are often more protective of their baby girls while moms tend to hold their little boys close to their hearts. For a dad, his daughter is his whole world and he doesn't like the idea that his little girl will eventually grow into a mature and independent woman who will live away from him. Something similar was seen in a video posted by Melly Ryes where she shared a hilariously wholesome conversation between her husband and their little daughter. The camera captured the adorable conversation after the little girl asked her dad a question.

The father-daughter duo was playing when the girl asked him, “Are you sad that when I’m an adult I’m not going to be here anymore?” The dad, who had definitely not prepared himself for the future reality, was astonished. Still not striking him completely, he continued drawing and said, “What do you mean? Yes, you are.” The young girl, in her innocence, clarified, “No, like when I’m an adult.” The dad, still not wanting to embrace reality, said, “Where are you going to go?” The daughter mentioned, “When I am mommy’s size.” The dad repeated his question, completely unaware of where the conversation was headed.

“To a different house,” the girl responded. The dad then looked up at the girl, a little disturbed, and impulsively said, “With whom?” The little girl, unable to clarify further, tried her level best to explain to her dad and said, “What mommy has,” indicating the idea of moving in with a partner. On enquiring yet again, the girl waited for a few moments and said, “A boyfriend.” The dad broke out of his delusion, not even wanting to think about leaving his little girl, and remarked, “What the hell!? Who said that? Who said you can have a boyfriend?” His daughter was confused looking at the disbelief on her father’s face.

She reconfirmed her words and said, “When I’m an adult!” The dad simply picked up his chalk and continued drawing, not wanting to get into the reality and said, “No. I don’t want you to.” The daughter didn’t quite understand the depth of the conversation and naively said, “I’m going to.” The father-daughter duo got into the cutest argument with each other on whether the little girl would have a boyfriend and move out or not. “Don’t,” the father said, trying to suppress the conversation and carry on with his work. “I’m going to,” the daughter replied adamantly yet adorably. “You shouldn’t,” the dad added.

The daughter stayed true to her words and repeated, “I’m going to.” The video went viral as every father with a little girl could relate to it. With over 19k comments, daughters, fathers and many others added more emotions to the hysterically heartwarming scenario. @vine.pete said, “The silence before she says boyfriend. She was like how do I break this to him?” @catperez13 said, “She wants the same love you show her mommy. And that, my sir, is showing her something.” To this, Ryers replied, “She points at him after she says, ‘Same thing mommy has,'" indicating that the girl wanted a relationship and love just like her parents'.
