Little girl adorably vows to change her name and her reason has the internet in splits

Parents are precious beings. They are put on Earth in god's place to take care of their children. But, sometimes their decisions might not be the best fit for the same people. One of the biggest points of contention that often happens between children and their parents is regarding their selected names. Sometimes the names become old fashioned over time, have meanings that no one gets, or just get filled with bad memories. Something like this seems to be the issue with Mia in this video uploaded by @ricecuppfamily. In the video, the mother-daughter pair are talking about how the latter is not in love with her original name. 

The video was uploaded with the caption describing the girl's feelings toward the name, "She said she's gonna change her birth certificate when she grows old." As the video goes on, the reason gets revealed which leaves the mother and everyone in splits. The video features Mia playing with her mother's hair as the latter introduces her by saying, "So her name is..." During this time the girl interrupts and says, "Mia." The mother interjects, "That's not your real name."

Despite her mother's constant warnings, the daughter did not go down silently. She constantly reiterated that her name was Mia. Despite her mother constantly urging her to say her real name, that was her answer. Her mother finally asked, "Why don't you like your real name?" The daughter adorably said, "Because I like the name Mia." She slowly revealed her real reasons that the name "Mia" has a sweeter connotation for her. 

After constant pestering, the daughter finally blurted out her real name. Her name was, "Mirella Xianel Gonzales Cupp." Though a mouthful, the name's length was no issue. The daughter goes on to say that her distaste for the name comes from the fact that her mom only calls her by that when she is mad. The mother tried to deny this, but the daughter showed proof of it by imitating her in that mood. Some of the phrases used by her were, "Mirella Xianel! Eat your food!" "Mirella Xianel! Put your shoes on!" "Mirella Xianel! You are not listening to me!" All of these phrases caused the mother to laugh uncontrollably. The mother asked with a beaming smile, "Do I do that?" Mia nonchalantly said, "Yeah." Well, this one is definitely on the parents. There is no reason to be associated with a name that gets one scolding, so her demands seem to be correct.

The comments section was on Mia's side. @_danimy wrote how it was clear who was in the right here, "I believe everything Mia says." @theprincessashley backed up Mia's assertion with logic and commented, "So basically you use her name the most in stressful situations so she has associated the sound of her name with negative experiences. Try using her name mostly when you are congratulating or celebrating her." @destorm gave the mother a plan of action and wrote, "Use Mia when you’re disciplining her that way she’ll love her real name. Uno reverse."
