Little boy’s precious reaction to being cast as a door holder in the nativity play is too pure

Growing up, kids have the best perspectives on simple life experiences. It is their child-like excitement that makes them live life to the fullest and this excitement is what we yearn for as we grow older. With the Christmas season upon us, several kids are beyond excited not just for gifts and sweets but also for decorations, school parties and annual Christmas plays. One little boy named Milo has the internet’s heart after his mom shared his wholesome and heartwarming reaction to learning what role he’d be playing in his school's nativity play. His mom Harley Walton, shared a video on TikTok of the boy’s eagerness and he has amassed a large audience for all the right reasons!

Milo got back from school and as he stepped into the car, he couldn't control his excitement and had to spill the beans. “Guess what I’m for the nativity play? I’m a classic one,” Milo said with his eyes gleaming. His mother quickly jumped in on the excitement and began to guess. Her first thought was Joseph since Milo mentioned a “classic role.” Still lit up bright as ever, Milo asked his mum to keep guessing. “One of the three wise men,” she said. “No,” Milo replied, waiting patiently for his mother to guess. After another failed attempt at guessing, Milo’s mum asked him to reveal his role. 

“I’m door holder no. 3, I’ll be holding doors,” Milo said in the most thrilled and chirpy way possible. “That’s amazing!” his mom replied as the boy’s smile widened. The mom then inquired who he'd be holding doors for as she hyped her son up further. “Probably Joseph and Mary,” little Milo replied feeling extremely proud. On asking how he felt about his role, Milo gave the most befitting yet unexpected answer. He said, “When they said that I was like, ‘Get in there, let's go.’” He even clenched his hand to express his victorious feeling on earning the role. As he continued conversing with his mother, the little mischievous guy revealed the tactics he had planned to shine on stage.

“Since there’s little space, I’ll probably have to come in and slam the door,” the boy said, completely eager to get down to business and do his job perfectly. “I’ll probably have to wear brown,” the boy said as he concluded his conversation with his mum who in turn hyped him up further. Milo’s video amassed over 4 million views just on his mother’s account. Since then, several others have reposted the video on several platforms with added millions of views. With over 5k comments, several parents shared their children’s roles in their play while adults revealed their experience of being cast when they were little.

Many applauded the young boy for his enthusiasm and ability to appreciate his role and be content with what he got. @nnn22.5 said, “I want the algorithm to bring me back to see this amazing young man pull some doors at the nativity.” @rubz401 said, “I love how positive you are and matched his excitement. This boy is going to grow up and know he can be whatever he wants to be.” Milo indeed displayed a heart-melting energy with his role even though it wasn’t the main character. His infectious energy serves as a reminder for us to all have that child-like excitement to truly enjoy whatever life throws at us!
