Little boy who missed his kindergarten graduation thrilled by mid-air surprise from airline

Graduation ceremonies not only celebrate students' academic achievements but also mark the transition from one phase of life to another, such as childhood to adulthood or high school to college. So, it is natural that missing out on graduation ceremonies can be disheartening for both kids and adults. But one kindergarten kid got the most unforgettable graduation bash mid-air when the airline's crew found out he had missed the ceremony at his school. The mother of a little boy named Xavier shared a video of the surprise on her TikTok page, @xkids_mommy, which won over the internet in a short time.

She and her son were traveling with Frontier Airlines when the crew came together to make the day memorable for Xavier. He can be seen beaming and walking through the flight's aisle, wearing a familiar graduation garb consisting of a red cap and gown. The Frontier crew announced that a "special occasion" was underway on their flight. "We would like your help in helping Xavier. He's missing his kindergarten graduation today. And because he chose to fly Frontier instead, we're giving him his graduation ceremony on this flight," the flight staff announced. Xavier smiled and walked down the aisle of the flight and fellow passengers cheered and applauded for him, some even exchanging a high-five with the youngster.

Reaching the end of the aisle, he proudly posed with the flight attendants and pilots of the plane. "Thank you to @Frontier Airlines for making my son's kindergarten graduation unforgettable," Xavier's mom wrote alongside the TikTok video. There is no clear information about where Xavier and his family were flying to, but their journey was a pleasant memory indeed. Social media audience cheered for the little boy and left comments wishing him well. @secondchancemomma wrote, "I recently had a horrible experience flying with them, but after seeing how special they made this event for him, I'd reconsider flying with them again! Congrats, baby boy. We're proud of you!" @karmenhorta added, "So sweet!!! He’ll remember this forever."

When it comes to mid-air celebrations, Southwest Airlines isn't lagging either. A 95-year-old senior was celebrating his birthday on a flight when he was surprised by the airline staff and his fellow passengers. The video of the surprise was shared by the man's daughter @carolinepratt5 on TikTok, which didn't take long to melt the hearts of strangers online. The video captured a flight attendant making an announcement for the senior and wishing him a happy birthday. The crew further informed all the passengers in the flight that the birthday boy, identified as Jack McCarthy, has turned 95 and that they were delighted to have him in their aircraft. 

Every person on the flight closed their window and turned on their reading lights to replicate birthday candles and sang happy birthday to McCarthy. "My dad turned 95 and I asked Southwest Airlines for a simple birthday shout-out and they did this. Flight attendants had asked passengers to close their windows and turn on their reading lights to replicate birthday candles," the caption alongside the video read. Sure enough, it became a memorable birthday for the senior.
