Among difficult and rude landlord stories that flood the internet, DJ Bean (@killbyundrscore) shared a kind message sent by her landlord that has left online users awestruck. After paying her monthly rent, the tenant wasn't expecting to hear from her landlord when she was pleasantly surprised by a text. Posting the story on Twitter on December 3, Bean shared her disbelief at what she was reading on the screen.

DJ Bean took to her X handle to share a text message she had received from her landlord. "Good evening," the text began, "sent a little money back to you, a Christmas refund from my wife and I." He also expressed his gratitude towards the tenant, "It's been really pleasant not having to stress that someone is destroying that house." Sio, the refund was "just a small thank you" from them to her. "If you need anything, please reach out, I'll be by when it's dry out and get some more leaves! Merry Christmas!!" The tenant who shared the screenshot of the message wrote, "I really don't think there is a better landlord than mine omg???? Sent me like $400 of my rent back lol."

In a later post, the tenant explained that her landlord was extremely considerate towards any requirements for her home. Responding to those complaining she pay have sky-high rent, Bean clarified, "I pay $1850 for a 2 bed 2.5 bath house with a big fully fenced in yard 15 mins from the beach. Newly renovated as well. I cover the mortgage and of course pay a bit more to cover costs of repairs and such." She wrote, "They are SO nice. Take care of my lawn, replace literally anything without me even having to really ask, he's here almost immediately if I'm having any issues. And my rent is also so cheap lol. I love this fu*king house, and I love them omg I got so lucky." She re-emphasizes, "They did NOT have to do this at all, and it was so beyond kind of them. I’m extremely blessed to have found such a perfect and happy living situation."

A 2023 study published in the International Journal of Housing Policy found that landlord behavior can have a huge impact on the well-being of their tenants and their ability to make their rented house a home. By being considerate towards their tenant, the landlord was able to make the tenant feel comfortable and secure in their residence.

Soon after the post went viral, many users expressed their thoughts on the message. @salty_skies wrote, "My landlord offered to purchase new tires for the family vehicle when he noticed that the steel belt was showing on the front passenger tire. There's definitely great landlords out there." @ndrizl commented, "I love when good things happen to good people." @subaruwubwub wrote, "I don't know you or your situation but I feel that you should invite him for dinner one time. Feels like something future you would look back on and glad you did for the experience."
