Cheating boyfriend received a $500 ransom demand to hide the evidence — one final selfie revealed he had paid his own girlfriend

Getting revenge on an unfaithful partner can feel extremely satisfying, especially when it leaves you in a win-win situation. Keely Grace Gaffney (@keelygaffney) experienced just that when she caught her ex-boyfriend cheating. Instead of breaking up, she waited for the perfect moment to get him to confess his wrongdoings until a blackmailer slid into her boyfriend's DMs and demanded $500 to keep his secret safe. Terrified, Gaffney's boyfriend paid the ransom, only to realize the real person behind the fake Instagram account. The video, shared on December 21, 2024, has received 930,400 views on TikTok. 

Sliding into his DMs

Back when Gaffney was dating her ex, she found out that he had been cheating on her. Feeling petty and vengeful, she decided to do something before breaking up with him. She created a fake Instagram account, made it look real with photos and followers, and then messaged him. Gaffney, while pretending to be someone else, texted him, "I know you cheated on your girlfriend, and I'm going to send her proof if you don't send me money."

She got the last laugh

Gaffney's ex-boyfriend freaked out because he knew he could be in trouble if his secret came out. So, he asked who she was and how much money he had to send. Gaffney demanded $500 and said, "I knew he didn't have any more than that." She then created a new Venmo account and told him to transfer the money to it. Surprisingly, her ex-boyfriend did. After Gaffney transferred the money to her own account, she sent him proof and videos, followed by a selfie of herself. She did not say anything because her selfie was "straight to the point." Gaffney was happy with the $500 because she said it was the most she got out of the relationship. "So, moral of the story: Revenge is always the answer," she added. 

She chose revenge

Everyone responds differently when faced with a cheating partner. Ashley Madison, a dating app, with YouGov, surveyed Americans and found that 47% of respondents would forgive a partner if they cheated on them. Interestingly, the number of women (44%) who were willing to forgive cheating partners was lower than that of men (51%). Similarly, Gaffney was not the forgiving kind. Instead of attempting to salvage the relationship, she confronted her unfaithful partner and took matters into her own hands. Additionally, the survey found that 39% of women and 38% of men said they would be cautious about dating someone with a record of infidelity.

Meanwhile, people in the comments were also impressed by how Gaffney handled her cheating ex. For instance, @twill.ongenbone wrote, "We listen, and we take notes." Similarly, @maja.kaldonek added, "I feel like that’s the right price for emotional damage."
