She helped a café owner file a police report and thought she deserved free breakfast every morning. By day four of being ignored, she snapped

A person who goes by u/jacked-cookies on Reddit experienced it firsthand when they watched an entitled woman use a favor she did for a cafe owner as an excuse to demand free food. In a post shared on October 21, 2026, they wrote about "Chanel," a native woman who helped their husband's friend Mark file a police report, and in return showed up at the cafe, expecting free food daily. When regular customers started mentioning her to the author's husband, he revealed her substance use, which soon got back to her. The post has since received over 2,000 upvotes.

One favor, endless freebies

The author's husband and Chanel met because they belonged to the same community. An important fact about Chanel was that she smoked up every day, and it changed her personality. The narrator's husband would ask Chanel for help whenever he needed something translated. That was why he recommended her to Mark, his friend, who needed help in reporting his stolen car. "Mark was so grateful, he told her to order anything she wanted from the menu as compensation," the narrator explained. Seeing an opportunity, Chanel ordered a week's worth of food and walked away." She started showing up almost every morning for 'free' breakfast," the narrator said. In fact, whenever someone questioned her, she would say she's entitled to free food since she saved the owner from losing his business.

When regular customers asked the author's husband about Chanel, he said she behaved that way because she had a substance problem. When Chanel found out about it, she sent him an angry voice message. She said rude and disrespectful things about the author and his family. "He was so pissed that he texted her to never talk to him again because she doesn't exist anymore before blocking her," the narrator explained.

A public crashout

The following day, Chanel walked into the café for breakfast. She greeted everyone, including the narrator's husband, pretending like everything was fine, but he ignored her. He pretended as if she did not exist for three days, and on the fourth day, she crashed out. The narrator's husband was having breakfast and talking to another customer when Chanel tried to get his attention, but as usual, he ignored her. When he was about to leave, she tried to block his path, but he made his way out anyway.

"When he opened the door, she started screaming about how he could go f**k himself for ignoring her, throwing every cuss word she could think of in their native language." Not letting her cause a scene, Mark threw her out of his cafe. Later on, the author's husband called him to apologize, but Mark said that "her [Chanel's] outburst proved what my husband said was true," the narrator said.

Over the decades, people have grown weary of humans and their ability to deceive another individual. Chanel also saw an opportunity to her advantage and exploited the café owner. As a gesture of gratitude, Mark offered her free food once, but she exploited his generosity by demanding free food daily.

Meanwhile, netizens called out Chanel's greed in the comment section.
