"The second I pressed 'send,' I just knew this was over for real," Lisa said

It's normal for people to make mistakes in a relationship, but some blunders change the bond forever. On July 19, 2026, Sherally Lisa (@sherallylisa) took to Instagram to talk about why she ended her last relationship. On their way home from a festival, Lisa knew something was wrong when her boyfriend got extremely quiet. He went to bed the moment they got home, so she decided to dig through his phone to understand his sudden mood change. When she saw his chats with her best friend, she knew there was no going back. Her video has since received over 310,000 views.
Lisa thought she and her boyfriend had a good day, but she was confused when he suddenly got extremely quiet on the way back home. "It felt like he knew what was about to happen, and it's like, I knew too," she explained. As soon as they reached home, her boyfriend went straight to bed, but his silence made Lisa restless. Curious, she grabbed his phone, sat on the couch, and started scrolling.
She went through his Snapchat and WhatsApp and couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her boyfriend had been talking to her best friend, but she was just one of the several other women on his phone. In one of the chats, he even told his uncle who he was sleeping with. Lisa was numb. "The only thing going through my head is screenshots... I think I ended up making 60 screenshots." Heartbroken, she sent the screenshots to her mom, his mom, and her friends. "The second I pressed 'send,' I just knew this was over for real."

Furious, Lisa went upstairs to confront her boyfriend, but he did not want to get up, so she dialed her best friend instead. She called her and said she wanted to see her and talk. But 10 minutes later, she called Lisa back and said she could not make it because her nephew was there. "I knew she was lying, so I asked her straight up... She goes, 'No, we were just brushing it off. We didn't want to do anything,'" Lisa recounted.
Lisa was appalled by her best friend's lying and hung up. In another video, Lisa called another woman her boyfriend was talking to. Apparently, the woman knew that he was committed, and surprisingly, she told Lisa everything he had been doing behind her back. Lisa also revealed that the car he had been using to drive women around was hers. It had been in her name from the beginning. Moreover, she taught him to drive. "Not only did this man lie to me, cheat on me, and manipulate me, he also put me in one of the craziest financial situations I've been in," Lisa explained. She also shared that her boyfriend had collected several tickets under her name, crashed her car, and refused to pay for it.
Finding out your partner is cheating is a hard pill to swallow. What makes it worse is that the majority tend to cheat with people they're close with. Research from the University of Colorado Boulder found that 53.5% of extramarital affairs were with close friends or people they knew well, while 29.4% of the affairs were with a neighbor, a co-worker, or a long-term acquaintance. Lisa's best friend claimed nothing happened between her and her boyfriend, but the text messages said otherwise. Lisa did not reveal the details of those messages, but 41% of Americans in a Talker Research poll said that keeping an ongoing flirtatious text conversation with someone other than one's partner is considered cheating.

Netizens had several questions about why Lisa stayed with her boyfriend for so long. But many were happy she left her toxic relationship. For instance, @lewieee asked, "And what made you stay so long, even after unpaid tickets? I really need to know." @poupe_noire wrote, "Is this a spin-off from Netflix's 'The Polygamist?' Cause girl!"
