Traveling to a foreign country where people don't speak your language can be quite challenging, especially if the person is traveling alone. In such a scenario, they might be on their guard at all times. A Korean woman visiting India experienced something similar when she felt like everybody on the street was looking at her. She confronted a man near a shop because she felt he had been observing her constantly. She was quite surprised when the man started talking to her in Korean. The video by Gabe Jung, who goes by @potatoturtleee on YouTube, was reshared with translations on TikTok by @nextshark.
The woman was roaming around a street in India and recording a vlog as she wondered why people on the street were constantly looking at her. She spotted a man who had been looking at her for quite some time and asked, "What are you looking at? Do you like me?" The Indian man answered in Korean, "I work here." The woman was quite surprised to hear a man speak Korean in a foreign country and put her hand on her mouth. She exclaimed, "Oh my God! How did you suddenly speak Korean?" She was stunned but she also looked a little relieved as she laughed. "How do you know Korean?"
The man explained, "I worked at a restaurant in Korea. That's why I learned Korean." The woman apologized after she understood what had happened. "I am sorry," she expressed. The man assured her that it was alright as the video ended. The caption to the video read, "The odds that this happens...I guess don't judge a book by its cover." The video received more than 3.1 million views and over 266,000 likes. People took to the comments section of the video to express their thoughts on the incident and were quite surprised that she met a person who spoke Korean in India.

He knows Korean and that's why he was staring at her." @uhohfrizishere remarked, "Retailers will learn 1001 languages to make a living. Never think you can just gossip in front of them using your own language."
@freemovingyana shared, "Typical 'I'm better than them' attitude & decided to mock other people with the language they won't understand. Suddenly goes sorry when he understood it.Tsk." @kokodau expressed, "It’s sad to see people be rude for no reason just because the other person doesn’t understand their language...The moment they do they are respectful." @syifashare pointed out, "Same thing happened to one Malaysian creator when she was visiting South Korea. Ahjummas were trying to be rude just because she was wearing a hijab, turns out the girl could speak Korean & then the ahjummas were nice to her."
