Christmas is just around the corner, and kids might already be ready with their wishlist for Santa. They ask for anything they feel is important — their favorite candies, a dollhouse, or a vacation to Disneyland. Chiming in on the Christmas spirit, a parent (u/gobluetwo) shared their daughter's kindergarten letter to Santa on Reddit on November 27. Within 24 hours, the adorable post gained over 1k upvotes on the platform.

Their daughter was in kindergarten, so, of course, she wasn't great at spelling, but we guess that's what made the letter more special. She said she doesn't need any "crismis" (Christmas) presents, but she asked for a pet dog for her sister. The baby girl wrote that she needed a frog for Rxah, a "graf" (giraffe) for Audrey, and an "elfint" (elephant) for Kaitlyn. But wait, that's not it! She went on and on with her dream zoo list. "...And a muke [monkey] for hana, and a platapus [platypus] for Josif." The parent shared that their daughter, now 11 years old, has turned out to be a super sweet child.
Kids are simply adorable, and so are their Christmas demands. An 8-year-old, however, took the opportunity to ask Santa for nothing for herself but "money" for her parents, amidst an ongoing financial struggle. The note, posted by the girl's aunt from the UK, read, "All I want for Christmas is some money for Mummy + Daddy. They struggle with bills and [their mortgage]. I even feel sad." Emmie, the girl, continued: "Please, please, Santa. Can you make it work?" Her mom stumbled upon the letter and sent a picture of her to her sister, Connell, who later posted it on X. Reflecting on it, she wrote, "It’s made me cry a lot to think that someone so young is even thinking about this!"

Most kids grow up fascinated by Santa and Christmas gifts. In fact, research by Chartered Psychologist Dr Louise Bunce revealed that nearly 90% of kids under the age of seven still believe in Santa Claus. Moreover, the study found that parents encouraging the illusion does no psychological harm to the kids. Among the age group of young kids (3 to 10 years), 60% said Santa was real.
Meanwhile, people loved the innocent little girl who went overboard with her wishlist for Santa. For instance, u/azriel1014 commented, "I like how we started reasonably with a dog and a frog and very quickly escalated to giraffe, elephant, monkey, and platypus. Big dreams!" u/averylakotavaliant wrote, "That's adorable. I misread the last part and thought she requested a 'nuke' for Lana. I don't think Santa provides weapons of mass destruction!" u/open_soil8529 said, "This is WONDERFUL work for a K student. Great job with phonetic spelling, spaces, size, and placement! This teacher gets an A+ on kindness and writing. It is so cute of her!" @u/puzzleheaded-elk7396 commented, "Crismis! Girlie was ordering a whole zoo. The spelling is so cute. Very nostalgic. Kids are the best."
