Kid has the most adorable reaction to finding out he was born on his birthday

We learn new things every day, and as parents, nothing beats the joy of watching your child mature and figure out certain things by themselves. A toddler was bamboozled after realizing the concept of birthdays during a sweet conversation with his mom.

Four-year-old Jacob from Ireland has millions obsessing over his wholesome reaction to discovering the meaning of birthdays. Viewed by over 89 million people on TikTok, it was posted by his mom, Donna Whelan (@keepupwithjacob). The 26-second video begins with Jacob asking when he was born, to which his mom replies, "You were born in June," which is when he points out that his birthday is also in June.

The conversation should have ended right then, but Jacob decided to get to the bottom of it. “Born in June, the same as my birthday?” he asked again with an amused expression. “Yeah! That’s why you have a birthday because that’s when you were born,” his mom patiently explained. She tried her best to explain birthdays to him. “I’m gonna have a June birthday every single time. Every single week?” he inquired. While that seems a bit much, his mother still held his hope. “Every year! Your birthday is in June,” she patiently informed him. “Is it crazy?” she asked. "Yeah," he replied, content with the assessment. 

Jacob has gathered a lot of attention online with many commenting on his adorable reaction. "He's my favorite person on this app," said @theotherhubbard. "The only reason I open this app is to check on Jacob, Scotch and Vodka. They light up my life," added @shelbyrideout. "God! This’s one of my favorite videos of all time. Bless him!" commented @ilhammelit.

"I can’t tell you how much I love this video. Kids are so random and funny - bless him," said @alexandraeduardovna. "My eight-year-old baby boy was listening to this in the back of the car and would laugh every time your son did! He has a June birthday too!" added @carrienielsen5.

As you have already inferred, Jacob is an exceptionally articulate four-year-old, but there is more to it than that. According to Irish Central, he was seen discussing St. Patrick's Day while seated on the couch with a box of blocks in another popular video.

"I'm going to explain something," he said in a video shared by his mother in 2022. "I am going to pretend these are snakes," he explains to his mother, adding, "St. Patrick took all the evil snakes out of Ireland, and they won't come back ever again!" Pointing to his festive green top, Jacob says: "Do you know clovers is very lucky for St. Patrick's Day?" With a big smile, Jacob ends the video by saying: "Mammy, do you know what? I love being Irish." And we all love Jacob!

As it turns out, little Jacob understands the value of what it means to be Irish.  In another video, Jacob lists "things Irish people say," such as "Stick the kettle on, will ya!" and "Ahh I'm not in the humor."
