Many people on the internet applauded the mom for her answer and could relate to how the little girl felt.
Every person might not want what is considered conventional in society. So, when a person's parents support them with their choices, it can really be reassuring. A little girl felt that sense of reassurance when her mom answered her question about having a husband. The girl's evident satisfaction with the answer was both hilarious and adorable. Her mom, Brittney Ann, who goes by @itsa_wanderfull_life on Instagram, took to the platform to share the moment, and the internet absolutely loved it.
In the video, the mom and daughter seemed to be having a movie night together. Out of the blue, the girl asked her mom, "Do you have to have a husband?" The woman looked at her and answered, "Nope!" The single-word response instantly changed the girl's expression from bewildered to happy. She let out a sigh of relief and had a big smile on her face, looking completely satisfied with her mom's answer. Her expression made her mom laugh out loud. There was no clear explanation of why the girl asked the question as she was reading "Cambridge Hidden Walks" while her mom watched TV. The video received more than 23.8 million views, and the caption to the video read, "Nope."
Many people took to the comments section of the video to express their thoughts on the girl's reaction when her mom reassured her that she doesn't need to have a husband. @niamhnews wrote, "The way she’s reading 'Cambridge Hidden Walks.' This girl wants peace." @_snow_flake commented, "Mostly, marriages make men and break women. So sis, you're thinking the right way." @thegh0stpotato remarked, "The men fighting over a child not wanting to have a husband is enough reason for the child not to want a husband." @killallpuppets shared, "Centuries of progress, all to culminate in a simple nope and a little girl's smile. Our mothers from centuries past smile upon us."
@lukart_illustratioon pointed out, "Seems like some of my fellow men think we're so unlovable that they want women to grow up indocrinated into thinking they're *not allowed* to not marry men. Let's graciously assume that these guys aren't talking about this particular girl here as a hypothetical wife for themselves but for some other future men who are now roughly the girl's age... putting that aside, guys, don't you think that this girl would grow up absolutely resenting the fact she *had to* marry a man if she were told differently here? Wouldn't you feel the same in her shoes? She would either rebel and never marry or she would do it and feel miserable because it would feel like an inevitable loss of freedom. Would you want your wife to feel like that about marrying you? I'd rather be single than be with a woman who thinks she has to be with me. I want a woman who chose me and wants me. I want a woman who has other options, who can leave at any time but doesn't, for no other reason than wanting to be with me. That's the absolute bare minimum of what every man should want and it's troubling if you don't."
