Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick mark 35th anniversary with heartfelt throwback posts: 'Happy 35'

Hollywood is not exactly known for successful relationships. In the sea of breakups, one couple that has stood strong through everything is Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. Having first met each other on the set of the PBS version of Lanford Wilson's play "Lemon Sky," the actors fell in love quickly and since then there has been no looking back for them. The couple are proud parents of Travis Sedgwick and Sosie Ruth and regularly gush about each other to the media. The duo celebrated 35 years of togetherness on September 4 with some sweet throwbacks on Instagram.

On the occasion of their 35th anniversary, Bacon and Sedgwick shared heartfelt words about each other on their respective Instagram accounts with throwback photos. The photos featured them at the start of their relationship, young and in love, all ready to embark on an adventure of a lifetime with each other.

Bacon accompanied his post with a sweet caption that reads: "35 years feels like a heartbeat. #Anniversary." The photo shared by him features the couple cuddling in a chair, with Sedgwick looking at the camera with a beaming smile while Bacon gives her a sweet kiss on the forehead.

Sedgwick was also not far behind and on her account posted a photo the couple clicked the year they met each other. It is a simple picture of the adorable couple giving an intense look to the camera. She captioned the post: "It was 1987- on the set of 'Lemon Sky' - I met a man named Kevin. Happy 35, my love." The couple has never shied away from showing off their love. The couple talked about their love story as well as their first meeting in an interview with PEOPLE in March this year.

Bacon shared that he was completely "knocked out" the moment he laid his eyes on Sedgwick. While Bacon felt Sedgwick was "amazing," she did not have the same opinion. She shared, "I remember thinking, 'Oh, he thinks he's cool.'" But after going on a date with him, her opinions changed dramatically, and she immediately realized he was the "one." She told the publication, "I remember waking up and going, 'I feel like home.'" The couple's connection only grew from there and they soon decided to take the plunge.

Bacon and Sedgwick tied the knot in the same year. Their belief that they had a "special connection" proved to be true as they've stood the test of time even in the midst of Hollywood fame. The comment section of the posts was filled with congratulatory messages for the couple.
