Fans rallied behind Keke Palmer after her boyfriend Darius Jackson criticized her outfit on his since-deleted Twitter account. In a video posted on Twitter, Palmer was seen wearing a sheer black dress over a matching thong bodysuit while being serenaded by Usher at his Las Vegas residency. The 29-year-old was dancing with the singer as he performed his hit 2010 song, "There Goes My Baby." Jackson first commented, "It's the outfit tho [sic]... you a mom" and then doubled down in a tweet that got fans even more infuriated.

"We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife [and] mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others [and] he gets told how much of a hater he is," he said. "This is my family and my representation. I have standards [and] morals for what I believe. I rest my case."

Many people called out Jackson for his comments. @notkelbel tweeted, "Tell us you're insecure without telling us you're insecure." @AlexisAllore69 said, "Get a new boyfriend, sis. The idea that once women give birth, the only identity they're allowed to have is 'mother' and 'matronly' is so harmful it isolates tons of mothers to the point they (skull emoji). Parents are people. As long as they aren't hurting anyone (and she is NOT), LET THEM BE." @SholaMos1 added, "I'm sure Keke Palmer will handle her business in private, but you have to wonder - if that's what he says ABOUT her in public, what does #DariusDaulton say TO her in private? This entire saga says everything about him. He should publicly apologize to her."

Others were surprised that Jackson would publically call out the woman he loved like that. "You don't lambast your woman publicly. It's unnecessary and wrong. I mean, that's your woman. I mean, where is the love if you have to feed her to the wolves like that? I really don't get the endgame of having to correct your woman in a degrading manner in public," @IamEriOluwa noted.

As for Palmer, the "Nope" star took to Instagram on Wednesday evening after Jackson suggested that her outfit wasn't appropriate for 'a mom' by sharing a picture of the very same outfit. She captioned her post on Instagram, "I wish I had taken more pictures, but we were running late! I am telling y'all right now if you haven't seen @usher, YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theater, Atlanta downnn, tips and tricks and just absolutely iconic. I was truly inspired as a performer. I whooped some ass in spades too! Where is that pic of us all together with the King himself?? @noraradd."

The "Akeelah and the Bee" star and the former fitness instructor met in 2021 at a party and welcomed their first child together, a son named Leodis, in February, according to Page Six. While they keep their relationship on the down-low for the most part, Palmer once gushed about her boyfriend to Bustle, telling the outlet she didn't want to "hide" him because he made her "the happiest" she has ever been. "[Keeping our relationship a secret is] a lot more work than just living in my life and being in my life," she said at the time.

According to Cosmopolitan, she spoke on "The Tamron Hall Show" about becoming more and more okay with having a public relationship. "It became more difficult to hide," she said. "We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I'm not gonna hide something that makes me happy. It's not gonna be everything you see, my job is my job, but at the end of the day, this is somebody that is important to me, so why not."
