Being a parent is hard. It is often not acknowledged how much a parent does for their kids. Thankfully, Keke Palmer is someone who understands it, being a new mom to a baby boy. Recently, she shared some positivity and appreciated single parents for what they do, as reported by TODAY. In a video posted on Instagram, Palmer said, "If you are a single parent, pull out your cape. As a matter of fact, unclip your angel wings because I don't know how else you did it."

She added that she did not want to sound insensitive and there could be many reasons why they are a single parent. "Maybe they lost somebody. Maybe they don't want to deal with somebody. Maybe it's a choice," she continued. "But when it comes to raising a kid, I've already learned in these short few days that it takes a village and sometimes that's a privilege."

Talking about her friends, family and parents she does not know, Palmer became emotional and said, "It could bring tears to my eyes. I am just truly, profoundly impressed," she said. She captioned the video, "I ain’t gon’ lie, I’m gettin’ COOKED!"

Many people on Instagram could relate to what Palmer said. @officialfunnygirlsrock commented, "Nah, that first-time motherhood is REAL. Postpartum depression is REAL. Trying to adjust to your postpartum body, the pain, and emotions while being completely responsible for a whole new human is REAL. We all experience pregnancy and motherhood differently (each time). Let's normalize encouraging and supporting mothers' feelings after they give birth. As beautiful as motherhood is, it is also an extreme transition mentally, physically, and emotionally.💯🥰" @vanessamorgan commented, "appreciate this post. First two months was completely alone with my son at my place until my mom was able to come and help. The hardest thing in the world. But worth it." @drshantesays commented, "Single parenting ain’t NOOOO JOKE! Mine is a senior next year and I’ll never do it again. Rewarding, but very difficult." @raetheleo commented, "As a Single mother of 1 child that's 19 now. I say all the time single mothers of multiple children idk how they do it. I only have one and lord have mercy, multiple children. I salute single women with more than one. 💪🏾💪🏾"

Palmer welcomed her first child with boyfriend Darius Jackson on February 27. She shared the information in an Instagram post. She wrote, "Hey Son!!!! Only 48hrs of being parents! 😳 Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, 'Someone' by El Debarge was a favorite. We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God! 😆 The baby loves Rolling Ray, cause purrr. I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.” Hahaha. I’m just playing, my baby face is on this slide. And this slide 🤣🥹😅😍❤️🙏🏾😇😭 Born during Black History Month, with a name to match 😄! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo."
