Unexpected acts of kindness, especially from those who have reached great highs in their profession, can do wonders for a newcomer’s morale. These random words of encouragement can help people accomplish tasks they once thought impossible. A similar situation unfolded when a young reporter was expected to interview Hollywood star Kate Winslet. Martha, a young reporter working for a German outlet called ZDF (@ZDF on X), was nervous as it was her first on-camera interaction with a celebrity, especially of Kate Winslet's stature. A widely circulating video showed the "Titanic" actress sharing words of wisdom with the young reporter by placing her faith in Martha’s abilities to pull off "the most amazing interview" ever.

The heartfelt pre-interview interaction between Martha and Winslet began on a positive note, with the young reporter putting aside her assumptions about the Hollywood celebrity. With a no-filter approach, the journalist opened up about feeling anxious sitting with the "Avatar" star. "It's my first time," she said, prompting Winslet to lean forward and offer her reassurance, which would eventually change the course of their conversation. "Okay, well guess what," the 49-year-old actor replied, adding, "When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever." Winslet further asked the young reporter a follow-up question to help her better understand the idea of positivity in life.

“And do you know why?” the “Avatar” actress asked, referring to her earlier statement.  “Because we've decided that it’s going to be. So we’ve decided right now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview,” remarked the Academy Award winner, known for her unconventional roles on the silver screen. Wearing a black outfit, the English actress offered a thoughtful explanation that any interviewer would want to hear from the person facing their questions.

“You can ask me anything that you want,” Winslet told Martha, with a smile on her face. “You don’t have to be scared,” she continued, looking at the young journalist with a comforting twinkle in her eye. “Everything’s going to be amazing. Okay? You got this,” the Hollywood star concluded, leading to the highly anticipated moment.

As suggested, Martha rose to Winslet’s expectations, making it a memorable interaction for the duo. The interview ended with the child reporter posing for a selfie with her favorite celebrity.

Additionally, the German outlet appreciated Winslet’s heartwarming gesture toward their younger reporter, recognizing the difficulties that come with the job. “Being a child reporter is not an easy job, especially when you have to interview a global star in English! It’s great when that global star can be so encouraging, like Kate Winslet,” read the outlet’s loosely translated post. Meanwhile, the candid pre-interview moment gained massive attention on the microblogging platform, garnering millions of views.

Among the countless reactions, "Kate Winslet reassuring this young girl that her interview will be amazing is the most precious thing I’ve ever seen," another entertainment reporter, Liv Marks (@OliviaLilyMarks), wrote while resharing it. “Masterclass in class. Everybody else on earth, pay attention and take notes. This is how you properly be human,” @writewithless shared similar sentiments.
