What are gifts if they don’t touch your heart and add bliss to your soul? New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns just celebrated his 30th birthday on November 15 and was able to receive one special gift among others, ESPN reported. The athlete’s girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, knew she had to surprise him with something heartfelt, and so she went back down one of their summer conversations to figure out what to get him. In a post shared on Instagram dated November 16, the woman recalled how the basketballer earnestly wished he’d get one more ride in his late mom’s car. She kept that in mind while getting his birthday gift.

Towns and Woods began dating in May 2020, a report from PEOPLE revealed. This came shortly after a month of his mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns’ passing due to COVID. The duo had been close friends for a long time. When things got challenging during the pandemic and with his mom’s death, they realized they were better off being each other’s closest supporters and as partners. After four months of their relationship, they finally made it official by sharing posts on Instagram. Woods shared a series of their cozy poses and captioned it, “I found you, then I found me.” Towns, on the other hand, acknowledged how her presence helped him.

“There are darknesses in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all light,” he said. Ever since, the duo has been going strong. Fast forward to this summer, the man popped a question to his girlfriend, asking if she could drive one car, what would it be? While she had her pick, when she asked Towns, she was taken aback by his response. "I wouldn't pick anything crazy. I just really loved my mom's car she had when I was a kid,” he said. Jacqueline drove a black 1990s Isuzu Trooper when Towns was a child. Woods shared a glimpse of himself, his mom and him posing by their car.

Seeing how much it meant to him, the woman knew there could be no perfect gift than to give him a piece of that memory back. “So I went on a mission these past months to find the car,” she wrote in her caption. She did her extensive search and finally found the car, had it shipped from one country to another, and had it repaired just in time for his birthday. Surprising him with it on his big day, he was speechless. The athlete can be seen thrilled by his newest yet oldest vehicle, still holding a special place in his heart. "This s*** is so fire. This is the best thing ever," Towns said while driving the vehicle.

Towns reshared the post on his Instagram with the caption, “Another year of blessings, grateful for it all.” There is no doubt that love is working at its best among these two, and the internet wouldn’t want it any other way for one of their favorite basketballers. @slumbeautiful86 wrote, “What a sentimental gift.” @durant added, “Time to wife her up!” @fourtyfourhead remarked, “Soul satisfyingly thoughtful.” @heylilygirl wrote, “‘So I went on a Mission’ is what true love looks like.”
