The people on the internet were simply taken aback after finding out that the boyfriend didn't drive the family back because he was too tired.
The miracle of birth can, in reality, be pretty taxing. From the intense physical exertion to the hormonal and emotional shifts, it can be quite a trying ordeal for any mother. One mother had to drive herself back from the hospital just hours after giving birth while her partner napped in the backseat. Jade Harrison, known on TikTok as @jadee24_7, originally planned to give birth at home, but that did not work out. She later took to TikTok to explain how she didn’t end up taking the "father carrying the car seat picture that everyone else got after they left the hospital."
In the post, she explained how her partner was so tired that "he slept in the hospital bed" until she "drove herself home 6 hours after giving birth so he could sleep in the car." Many were taken aback after finding out that the new mom had to drive just hours after giving birth herself. Harrison was so shocked by the reaction that she later opened up to Newsweek and said it was no big deal.
"I wouldn't change anything. It made sense for me to drive," she remarked.
People in the comment section simply couldn't believe their eyes. "This has to be a joke, not a chance he would be an ex?!" wrote @weelynn1283. "My husband was up for 3 nights before I had my eldest working night shifts, he fell asleep on the hospital FLOOR after I gave birth and still drove us home though," added @meganvkayleigh.
"The day I had my daughter my husband said 'I’m so tired,' went to bed and slept 8 hours leaving me alone with the baby. Spoiler - we are no longer married," said @danger_clam. "My partner left me for 6 hours at the hospital because he was tired and slept at home. Spoiler: we are no longer together," expressed @ceriellis89.
Women can endure labor and still pull off being dependable and self-reliant. In another extraordinary story, a mother, Brianna Hill, gave birth while taking her bar exam. While taking the exam from a remote location, she went into labor, and even though she knew her water had broken, Hill decided to complete her test before giving birth to her newborn.
"I thought I would only be 28 weeks pregnant when I took the bar," the new mom said in an interview with the news outlet. "However, due to the pandemic, the test was pushed to October, and I was going to be 38 weeks. I joked about taking the test from my hospital bed. Lesson learned!"
The remote version of the exam consists of four sessions of 90 minutes each and about 30 minutes into the exam, Hill felt something. "I thought I felt something about 30 minutes into the test and actually thought, 'I really hope my water didn't just break.' But I couldn't go check, so I finished the first section. As soon as I stood up when I finished, I knew my water had broken," she said. Once she was done with her exam, she drove herself to the hospital and gave birth.".
