After accidentally questioning his 'quarter-zip sweater,' the daughter received a reply that was hysterically on par.

Young adult roasts are really hard to get rid of, but one dad managed it brilliantly. 21-year-old Miriam Lowe didn’t think much when she accidentally roasted her dad’s clothing choices while anchoring for her college news at the University of Arkansas, reported TODAY. The dad, McCrary Lowe, was in utter disbelief when he heard her remarks about his beloved quarter-zip sweaters. Though purely out of humor, the jab was made, and a response had to be given. Choosing another fashion statement from the same news segment, the dad delivered a befitting reply. Miriam’s mom, Shannon, shared the scenario on Instagram.
The parents were sitting on the couch, waiting to watch their daughter host the show with co-host Jax Crall. A little after they came on, the duo broke into a conversation about fashion and quarter-zip sweaters. Crall mentioned that he was questioning the style and asked for the 21-year-old’s opinion. Maintaining a calm composure, Miriam quickly expressed her view on the apparel, noting how her dad often wore quarter-zip sweaters. She went on to reveal that he was a "finance guy” who was “not exactly the most trendy, fashionable guy.”
As Shannon listened in silently, recording on her phone, the camera panned to McCrary, in a quarter-zip, completely disappointed, but still holding back a smile. While it was evident that the mom enjoyed the conversation, the dad knew he had to strike back. Miriam mentioned that her father owned around 10 sweaters, and she was ardently trying to figure out why. On the other hand, the dad defended himself saying, “I occasionally get a chill. Adding an extra soft layer allows me to be comfortable.” Roasting a dad’s fashion choices on TV is a bad idea, but embarrassing your teen daughter in public with those same fashion choices is worse for her, but comedy gold for the dad.

Now came the time for McCrary’s feisty reply. He watched the news segment so carefully that he recounted a brief discussion about camouflage prints and jorts. Miriam had confidently defended the style and outfit, and the dad decided to hop onto the trend. Before he could leave for a family trip, he fixed his fit — a camouflage T-shirt, and homemade jorts, cut out from jeans and socks pulled up to his calves. The dad was proud of his outfit and wore it to the airport; he also successfully got back at his daughter. “I was mortified,” Miriam said. Gen Z doesn’t play about their social lives or their fashion choices. According to Forbes, GenZ is gaining more and more power over the fashion industry.

Out of the 343 million population of the U.S, around 60 million comprises Gen Z. NielsenIQ revealed that the global spending power of Gen Zers is expected to reach 12 trillion USD by 2030. They are using this purchasing power to ensure markets are creating items and trends that they’re in favor of, be it environmentally sustainable items, vintage looks, and so on. According to The Independent, jorts are one of these trends.

While actors like Hailey Bieber and Gigi Hadid are owning these looks, they are considered to be the most popular trend that is still being debated. However, on popular search engines like Pinterest and fashion outlet Depop, the jorts inspo searches have gone up by a huge margin. All said and done, adorable sarcasm, humor, and comedy between a goofy and fun father-daughter duo never goes out of style. @gurl_w_gunz wrote, “That's the nicest roast I've ever heard. She loves her dad.” @millerteam4 added, “If she didn’t know her dad loved her unconditionally, she wouldn’t have said it. Well done, Dad!”
