'Why do you do what you do?' Cena asked.
Tushar Joshi (@tushboy), a journalist who had flown all the way from India to London to cover a red carpet event, had the most wholesome conversation with John Cena. When the reporter asked Cena who he would like to interview if they swapped places, his response reminded him just how far he’s come and how much he’s worth. Since Joshi posted the video on Instagram in July 2025, it has received 9 million views online.

Joshi confessed he hadn't expected something so profound to happen, even when he chatted with Cena for a joint interview with Priyanka Chopra. However, he was blown away by the wrestler-turned-actor's nature. Joshi said he wondered how Cena, such a popular face, manages to be so humble. "So I decided to roll with a question," he wrote. His question was simple: If given a chance, which celebrity would Cena pick for a conversation? And he said, "I get to ask you a question." The actor asked the journalist how long it took him to reach London from India, and when Joshi explained his travel itinerary, Cena asked, "You fly all this way to be in the heat, to be behind the camera, and drive a journalistic interview. Why do you do what you do?" Joshi responded, saying he loves what he does, and his passion for movies is the driving force behind his determination. "I can't think of doing anything else than this. This moment that I am sharing with you right now is exactly why I think I was born," Joshi added. Cena, who was quite impressed by the reporter's answer, praised him for being passionate. "When you have those moments of doubt and you wonder if what you do is worth it, it helps to get a perspective from someone else. And if that someone else is John Cena, then that moment becomes one of the most memorable moments of your life," Joshi wrote in the caption.
Despite the struggles typically faced in the journalism field, many professionals report job satisfaction. In fact, the Pew Research Center says seven-in-ten journalists confessed they are very (27%) or somewhat (43%) satisfied with their job these days. John Cena might have realized how hard reporters work all day, and that's why he must have decided to go out of his way to make him feel special.
Meanwhile, praising John Cena, @vardaan.17 commented, "What a great act; he knows how to bring value to the interviewer and make him realize how much his efforts count!" Similarly, @gaurichess wrote, "John is basically saying he gives everyone the respect they deserve and to value and be curious about all kinds of people in life." @vijaymaurya_ said, "Man, I have never seen a bad interview of John Cena. The way he answers these questions is unreal." A user who goes by @itsshenty on Instagram shared, "My teacher once taught me that the important person in the world is the one you are with… The most important thing to do is what you are doing right now, and the most important time in the world is right now." @nay__sha, commented, "Being in the movies, a lot of people don’t realize that it is a lot of work. It’s a lot of sleepless nights. It’s working around the clock, and when you say it’s what’s in your blood, it makes me so proud. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for doing this."
