The cute video intercuts between the older Champ Biden who is relaxing by the Christmas tree while Major Biden runs around energetically.
Joe Biden tweeted an incredibly cute video of his two dogs as they frolicked about a Christmas tree to ring in the festive spirit. The President-elect's two German shepherds clearly have contrasting styles and approaches to life as an older Champ Biden preferred a quieter time by the tree while a younger boisterous Major Biden ran around relentlessly. The video intercut between the pair and had a quieter melodious version of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" set to the background while an energetic Major Biden had a rock version of the song playing in the background. “No matter how you’re celebrating this year, Champ and Major wish you a Merry Christmas,” wrote Biden, reported The Huffington Post. The video was also shared by Jill Biden. Joe Biden is set to become President in January after having beaten incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 Presidential elections.

Both the dogs are set to be First dogs once Biden, 78, is inaugurated as President in January 2021. Major will also be the first presidential rescue dog. Biden will also be the President to reinstate a tradition after Donald Trump became the first President in more than 100 years to not have a pet at the White house. Champ joined the Biden household after the 2008 election while Major was adopted in 2018 from the Delaware Humane Association. Bidens are also planning to adopt a cat which could move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on January 20th along with the two German shepherds.
The video featured them getting into the festive spirit and were surrounded with holiday-themed chew toys, including Santa and a reindeer. The video began with Champ Biden calmly sitting in front of the Christmas tree with a red blanket on him. The video then cuts to Major who can be seen running down the stairs with a stuffed Santa in his mouth. The older Champ Biden continues relaxing by the tree set against instrumental music while Major can be seen bustling with energy. The video intercuts between the pair before the video ends with a message from the Bidens. "No matter how you’re celebrating this year, Champ and Major wish you a Merry Christmas."
The dogs also prominently featured in Biden's campaign ads in the run-up to the Presidential election. Major Biden is a shelter dog and made the headlines earlier this year after Joe Biden fractured his foot while chasing the energetic dog. Biden was advised to wear a walking boot. “Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture,” said his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, before calling for a more detailed CT scan. The second scan found tiny fractures of two small bones in the middle of his right foot. “It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks,” said O’Conner, reported The Guardian.
“What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog and anybody who’s been around my house knows — dropped, little pup dropped a ball in front of me, and for me to grab the ball,” explained Biden, according to Fox News. “And I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom, and I grabbed the ball like this and he ran. And I'm joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug, and I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened,” said Biden, before adding, “Oh man, not a very exciting story.” Biden will be the country's oldest president when takes office in January. Despite speculations about his age and mental capacity, Biden has dismissed concerns over his health, with Biden's doctor claiming he is "healthy and vigorous."
