Parents often feel a whirlwind of emotions when their kids graduate from high school or college. And just like any other parent, Jennifer Garner could not hold back her tears when her eldest daughter, Violet, graduated from high school. The actor posted a series of pictures from her daughter's graduation on Instagram. She captioned them, "Tell me you have a graduate without telling me you have a graduate."

In the first picture she was on the verge of crying while applauding for Violet. In the next photo, she was wiping her tears from her eyes while standing outside. In the third picture, again, she was wiping her tears using tissue paper in an airplane and was seen wearing a blue and red check shirt. There was also an additional video from the plane, where she was seen asking someone in tears, "How are we going to make it? What are we going to do?" In the final picture, she looked sad while wearing a pair of 2024 sunglasses.

People in the comments were able to understand what Garner was going through. @reesewitherspoon commented, "Oh honey, I know. You have done a great job, mama! I will be here for support and lots of hugs." @rachelzoe wrote, "Oh my God, Jen! I stopped crying a week after Sky's 13th, so same girl. Love you madly and stay strong." @iamginatorres shared, "Oh, sweet mama! You've kissed every boo-boo and read every story and have made 5 am bread and muffins. All while living your own big life. You did amazing!"

@officialevercarradine said, "This picture makes me sob and my kid is only in 7th. Chaplin has absolutely loved having your incredible daughter as her TA. Sending Violet all the love on her next chapter." @veronica_freund87 expressed, "I love your heart. My little one graduated pre-K. She was trying on dresses for her graduation ceremony and started to cry because I pictured her one day trying on dresses for her high school graduation and I couldn't handle the heartbreak."

In an interview with TODAY, Garner spoke about how she felt about her daughter graduating. She said, "I was a wreck the whole month leading up to the graduation." "Every awards ceremony, every final, everything, I just cried at everything," she added. She said that she cried on planes thinking about her daughter's graduation and admitted, "Then the day of it was so happy that there was nothing to be other than just so proud and happy." Though it is not known which college Violet will be attending, Garner is anxious about her moving away from home.

Garner shares three kids with actor Ben Affleck: Violet (18), Seraphina (15) and Samuel (12). On June 13, 2024, Garner penned a tribute to her children's elementary school teachers on Instagram after her youngest child graduated. It read, "Dearest Teachers, thank you for caring about my children with me, for tying their shoes and holding their hands. Thank you for disciplining my kids when they've needed it and for offering more hugs than some children receive in a lifetime." She then went on to thank them for "having high expectations, for buckling down and teaching them the discomfort and joy of tolerating frustration toward a greater good."
