Every fangirl of the early 2000s romance movies eagerly awaits the charming James Marsden to make their Rom-Com fantasies come true. However, the recent message he has shared on his social media handles makes it pretty clear that the "love of his life" position is clearly taken by his mother. Marsden was looking forward to Golden Globes 2024 as he had been nominated in the category of "Best Supporting Actor," for his turn in the mockumentary "Jury Duty." Though he went on to lose the award to everyone's favorite Mr. Darcy aka Matthew Macfayden for his role in HBO's "Succession," the message from Marsden's mother Kathleen was no less than a win in the actor's book, as per PEOPLE. His mother's message not only touched his but everyone's hearts all over the internet making her the true example of "mommy goals."

Soon after the results were announced, Marsden's mother took her phone and messaged his son. The message read, "My favorite moment of tonight was when they had your picture up with the five other nominees. Just like I've seen all my life of different nominee pics all together like that. And I said to myself- My son is one of the 6 chosen and there he is up there on the TV screen next to the other nominees. My son did that. I can't quit smiling." Every family whose member is involved in movies knows how hard it is to make it in the brutal industry. It is filled with competitions and hurdles at every corner. They see their close ones make it through all of the tough days just for their passion.

Marsden's mother has personally witnessed all of the actor's highs and lows. Therefore, to see him make it on a platform like Golden Globes was heartwarming for her, and she shared it with her son. It did not matter whether he won or not, what mattered was that he took this perilous journey and gained the honor of being included with other great contemporaries. His mother's wholesome message touched Marsden's heart as he wrote, "My Mom. I love you" with a heart emoji in the story.

Jury Duty aired on Amazon Freevee from April 7, 2023. It is a mockumentary created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky with a fake jury trial as its central premise. In this mockumentary, everyone was an actor except Ronald Gladden, who thought that the whole premise was real and the case the group as a jury was deliberating on was true. Marsden played a heightened version of himself in the show. Despite the fake setup Marsden and Gladden remain friends as per People. "It was really important to me, I was like, 'I can't end this and then go, 'Hey bud, that was fun, see ya,'" Marsden said. "If we're really celebrating the guy, then we got to stay pals. And he's such a pure-hearted human being — I'd want to be friends with him anyway."

The show received a ton of positive reviews and with praise directed towards Marsden's performance. Rendy Jones calls the show, "a solid workplace comedy that tells a resonant story of community, delightfully unpacking how it's not just about serving in this world but who you're serving with." The show also received a lot of love from the awards circuit. In the Golden Globes ceremony, it was nominated for "Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy", and "Best Supporting Actor" for Marsden. It has collected three nominations at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Marsden.
