When a business owner received a call from her employee about a disruptive customer, she had no idea the situation would quickly escalate into something far more serious. The video, shared by Instagram user Bee's Business (@businessofbee), showed the confrontation in a video that received 1.5 million views and 50,758 likes, and sparked widespread support for her decisive action. "I was at home, and my employee called me to tell me about this customer. She was acting erratically and left feces all over the bathroom," the store owner explained in the overlay text. "But that's not why I kicked her out. I kicked her out because of this."

The clip then cuts to the confrontation, where she calmly but firmly addresses the customer. "Hi, I'm the owner," she said. "Did you use the N-word earlier?" The woman muttered, "Yeah, I'm sorry." Without hesitation, the owner replied, "Okay, I need you to leave. That is not acceptable behavior." Despite the woman continuing to apologize, the owner made it clear there was no room for negotiation. "I don't care if you're sorry or not. I need you to leave. That word is not allowed in here. You cannot talk like that in my store. And please don't come back. If you do, I will call the police," she calmly told the woman as she walked her out.

She explained in the caption that the woman had left her trash all over the store. "Then she proceeded to harass one of my customers with this… I’m not sure what the best way to handle this situation is, I just wanted her to get tf out of there and not come back," she explained. Unfortunately, incidents of harassment and verbal abuse are a widespread issue in customer-facing professions. A 2025 report by Perceptyx surveyed over 21,000 frontline employees, including those in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and transportation. It revealed that 53% had encountered verbal abuse, threats, or unruly behavior from customers within the past six months. Among retail workers specifically, 61% reported similar encounters.

Viewers applauded the owner's professionalism and unwavering stance. @hilaryoushilari wrote, "You responded so perfectly to this situation. You should be proud. I know you've made others very proud." @shellyvanb added, "You did awesome. Clear, articulate, but calm. Did not film her and post her. Walked her out and gave clear instructions on what would happen if she came back." @rachelg_25 shared, "When training new managers, I always tell them to stay calm, lead with facts and not emotion. Doesn’t matter if your voice shakes or you go cry in the car afterwards, keep your cool. And you did just that! Well done."

Others expressed just how impactful the moment was. @tiffernene said, "I find it abhorrent that people will say 'I shouldn't have said that word'. You shouldn't think it. It shouldn't be in your vocabulary." @mylifeasdrey commented, "Wow. If the world behaved like you, we’d be in a more beautiful place right now. Thank you for being." @auriijay chimed in, "I was overwhelmed with joy watching you do this. As a black woman, I’ve cried trying to get my white counterparts to join me in being an ally to the black community, and here you are, a stranger, showing what it looks like. A woman, standing her ground. Thank you! YOU ARE A FORCE. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise."
