Inmate proposes via FaceTime from prison and it's the 'reddest green flag' people have ever seen

Proposals are said to be the ultimate green flag. The way they plan and execute a proposal gives a gist of how well they will take care of their partners eventually. Blooming Events shared a heartwarming video of a couple with the most extraordinary and twisted proposal ever. People are unsure whether to deem this proposal a green or red flag and are calling it the “reddest green flag.” A rapper, Yatta, who has been in prison for the last 12 years as per a comment, proposed to his girlfriend from prison recently. The man had contacted and arranged for the same with the event company.

The proposal was set up like every dreamy proposal, except Yatta wasn’t present physically. The man was connected via video call and had an open space with flowers, lights and a huge floral heart. A huge sign reading “Marry Me” was placed beside the heart and there was an eloquent pathway of flowers to lead his girlfriend up to the center front of the setup. The device that Yatta was connected to via video call was placed on a stand beside the setup as if he were present with her. The woman, Belly (@bellybelle_), had been a part of Yatta’s life for quite some time. 

Since Yatta was imprisoned for several years, the woman had gotten used to communicating with him online. The couple would have dates and other plans with Yatta connected through video call. Yatta ensured that the proposal was a perfect one, with an ocean view and everything. While the audio wasn’t audible, a violinist was seen playing with serenity as the woman entered the site in complete awe. As she walked down the aisle decorated with flowers, she realized what was in store for her. Yatta spoke to the woman and made his proposal, and the woman flooded with emotions, said yes.

There was even a ring arranged, which the woman wore and posed beside Yatta on Facetime. When the video went viral, people were unsure whether to congratulate the woman or tell her to run. The reason was that the man had indeed made painstaking efforts to propose and that he was in jail. “Definition of, ‘If he wanted to, he would.’ No matter the distance, he still made it happen,” the caption of the post read. @heyrae9 said, “If he wanted to stay out of jail, he would.” @allykarkkainnen said, “When guys on the outside don’t even do this.”

@farahferrosh said, “The way I’d rather be single till I’m 98 than settle for a jailhouse proposal.” @wilson.notthevolleyball joked and said, “Maybe my fiance is just in jail that’s why I haven’t found him yet.” @notkaylaa87 said, “I don’t know if this is a flex. I’d want my man to be present with me.” @aubreydestremps said, “Absolutely not. That’s like joining the life sentence with him. She needs her life.” @beepbop said, “It’s such a brown flag. (Red and green.)” Several others were convinced not to settle for less, repeating the words in the caption and stressing, “If he wanted to, he would.”
