Dating has become increasingly digital over the past decade. With countless apps, social media platforms, and a growing lexicon of dating terms, navigating the modern love landscape was already tricky. Now, with AI entering the mix, things are getting even more blunt—and sometimes hilariously awkward. Case in point: Kendall Morgan (@kendallwmorgan on X) shared a moment when the AI on iPhone 18 summarized a breakup text from his partner in a way that was brutally efficient.

The caption of the post read, "In case anyone was wondering, the new AI feature on iOS 18 that summarizes longer text messages works incredibly well." Morgan shared a photo of the notification received at 12:40 AM that read, "Not feeling romantic spark; apologizes for ending things." The man saw the message at 6 am in the morning on a Sunday and decided to share it, as per Newsweek. "I thought it was the funniest thing ever, so I'm glad everyone else agrees." He added, "I would like to say that I'm surprised, and I certainly didn't expect it to get this much attention."

When asked how he felt about the text, Morgan explained, "I was fine! We weren't super serious, and I actually was starting to feel the same way. Great person and a total catch. We just weren't matches for each other and that's just how it goes sometimes." Morgan also shared the screenshot of the text he received with his date. "I actually sent him the screenshot of the summary, and he also thought it was very funny." He continued, "He doesn't really have social media, so I don't think he's seen [the post], but it has gotten a bit bigger than expected now, so maybe he has!" People took to the comments section of the video to express their thoughts on the incident and had mixed reactions to the feature. While some people felt it was harsh, others felt that it would make things easier to process.

@WhoDybala_ wrote, "Not feeling romantic spark 'apologizes for ending things' at 12:40 am is wild. If you even consider using this feature, I never want to know or talk to you." @xcatlyn commented, "Why do I feel like this would make it comically easier to process." @lilkittyzoey shared, "I saw one that shortened 'I about killed myself going on this hike, it was so difficult' to 'attempted suicide on a hike.'"

The creator joked, "Tim Cook is one of us, he should have foreseen this and STOPPED it this is GAY ON GAY CRIME." @VitalliKuzmenko remarked, "Siri out here dropping breakup bombs while you’re just trying to catch some sleep. Savage mode activated." @calvinle expressed, "Soon enough, the AI will read all your messages and notes to see your personality and the way that you talk. All the AI will need is the type of response back and then AI will be talking to AI."
