The 9-second-long clip shows a woman's parents in their early 50s, still infatuated with one another.
Love comes in many forms—whether it's a simple “Did you eat?” or a gentle caress. Without these small gestures, couples can drift apart or lose the spark that once lit up their relationship. Maintaining a strong connection requires effort from both partners, as demonstrated by the parents of university student Mariia Trush (@mary.charrm on TikTok). In a heartwarming video, Mariia captured a beautiful moment between her parents, reminding us all of the importance of nurturing a long and happy marriage.
The 9-second clip shows her parents, Olena Trush, 50, and Olexander Trush, 54—both hailing from Ukraine—still infatuated with one another. The video has a text overlay that reads, "My dad can't stop touching my mom even after 21 years of marriage." It shows how Olexander simply cannot stop showering love on his wife and is seen caressing her hair in the video. In an interview with Newsweek, Mariia shared, "Both my parents were previously married and divorced before they met, so by the time they found each other, they were more mature and knew exactly what kind of love they were looking for."
"Their marriage is built on the little things. It's really about the small acts of love they do each day. My dad always brings cut fruit to my mom or picks up flowers from the market whenever he passes it. My mom always reaches out to hold his hand when they're walking together or gently touches his arm when they're talking. She shows her love through these small affectionate gestures," she added.
She also shared how she loves "noticing these little gestures they do for each other." She added that seeing this kind of love between her parents has made her realize that she can never "settle for anything less." The video, which was posted in late August, has already gained over five million views on the platform. Many took to the comment section to talk about the heartwarming scene in the car. "My parents have been married for 30 years and they still do this. On her birthday, he went to buy her flowers, couldn't decide which color, so he bought all the flowers in each color available," wrote @annat2312, to which Mariia replied, "Stop! This is so cute." "I swear I'm like this. My love language is physical touch and if I don't do this, I get nervous," commented @dimitarenev4.
"Like my father, even though they have been married for 21 years, they are still romantic and never change," read another comment by @ngab.pin. However, not all comments were positive, with many pointing out how they would be uncomfortable if their parents behaved like this in front of their kids. "I was surprised by such comments," Mariia told the outlet after getting such comments on her video.
