The wife found two interesting-looking candle holders on the mantle above her home's fireplace and she was shocked when she found out what it was.
Upcycling is a great way to reduce waste at home, and that’s exactly what one woman captured in a viral video after her husband cleaned the house. Samantha, who goes by @lifewith_samantha on TikTok, posted a fascinating video where her husband had decided to put up an interesting decor over the mantle on their fireplace. The brief video has Samantha zooming in to the fireplace decor that is fit for the spooky season, featuring what appears to be a glass jar and two candle holders.
Upon closer inspection and after reading the overlay text, one can tell that the mantlepieces are actually two bone marrows placed side by side. It is often the favorite chewing material for pooches at home but her husband had unintentionally turned it into a home decor piece. "POV: Hubby cleaned and now the dog bones are decor," the overlay text on the TikTok video read. The caption "he tried" hints at how Samantha's husband is not a pro at house cleaning and decorating but the bones on the mantle have successfully managed to charm some of the fellow TikTok users.
In a follow-up video, Samantha decided to give her audience a closer look into the marrow bones. The marrow bones now have apple cider donut-scented candles burning up in them, making it a perfect fit against the white stone backdrop. She even placed one of the bone candles on the table in her living room. The comments section of the original video was overflowing with people praising the unlikely piece of room decor. @crinacgty joked, "This is proof that poor guy doesn't understand your taste in decor and he was like 'Oh, so she got bones for our mantle, ok, I guess!'"
@gambirzaya commented, "OMG. I thought you meant the actual dogs of the bone. I was like well that got dark fast." @spinningjenny suggested, "I mean, it's a vibe. You need some chunky taper candles." @kristinwood30 revealed, "I have three bones on my mantle right now and a chewed-up toy succulent to match my others." "They are still there and actually kinda growing on me for the spooky season. Also, the comment section invented dog decor, 'dogorations' and someone mentioned my dogs would like to see their artwork displayed," Samantha wrote in the comment section separately.
Samantha's husband isn't the only one who has settled with unconventional ways to clean up and decorate their home. An older woman named Joanne Sterling's husband Jim has never made their bed in the past 45 years of their marriage. So when Sterling decided she needed some help around the house with chores, Jim agreed to take over the bed-making duties. At first, Jim started by making his side of the bed and then took over the responsibility of fixing the entire bed each morning.
Even though he was doing a good job, Jim was determined to show his creative flair while rearranging the pillows daily. Sterling continued to click the pictures of their bed arrangement from time to time and posted them on her Facebook account, delighting people on the internet. "He did and started playing with the pillow arrangements to make me laugh," she explained to Bored Panda. "I hope it lasts for a while but I don’t know how creative he can get." Later on, as the documentation of Jim's bed-making skills became popular online, he started to include soft toys and other props to decorate the bed too.
