Many people pointed out how more people should know that both parents contributed to an easy pregnancy and were in awe of the man.
People who care about their loved ones show affection and care in the most unexpected ways. Similarly, when Nicole Rucker's husband found out that his overall health would affect how she felt during her pregnancy, he started putting in the work to ensure that his wife's pregnancy was smooth and trouble-free. Rucker—who goes by @imanixcole on TikTok—shared a heartwarming video of her husband working out for her.
"POV: Your man found out that a woman's pregnancy symptoms can be related to a man's health, so he's locking in for when we have kids," the text overlay of the video said. The husband was jumping rope outside the house with full enthusiasm. He glanced at the camera once as it zoomed in on him and then kept exercising with increased vigor. The caption of the video reads, "He gets me." The video received more than 2.2 million views and nearly 294k likes. The couple was not currently trying to conceive, as reported by Newsweek, but the husband started putting in extra effort anyway since they got married in May to ensure his wife and future family's well-being. Her husband, Austin Fountain, has always been active but is putting in extra effort for her.
"He now does cardio three times a week in addition to weightlifting, and he's a lot more mindful of his diet because of this. He's even gotten me more active," Rucker revealed. She believed that fertility and pregnancy were a team effort, and her husband's findings proved that.
"The sperm comes from one body and the egg comes from the other, so the health of both parties is super important," she expressed. "Now that I think about it this way, I'm shocked that I didn't realize it sooner," she added. People in the comments expressed similar thoughts and shared their own experiences.
@weightedblossom wrote, "My husband and I are both in great shape…seven months pregnant, zero cravings and not one day of morning sickness!" @rosha_samantha commented, "My husband got in the best shape and ate so clean with both of our kids. I didn't get why at first, but I caught on after a while! It's the intentionality for me." @childofyhw6n1 remarked, "Aww. Ya, it's crazy to learn the role the man plays in the placenta, nausea, early on miscarriage, preeclampsia, etc. Mind blown. I'm on my 3rd and I have times that I feel sick, icky and uncomfortable."
@anna.marie.silva shared, "My fiance and I were just talking about that this morning and he got a gym membership, looking into different vitamins and looking into other things he can do to possibly improve his health." @millenialatmom expressed, "I can confirm this. With our first, my husband was in terrible shape and my pregnancy was miserable. With our 2nd he was on a health kick, working out and juicing, my 2nd pregnancy was a breeze." @myawkwardselfkh pointed out, "My husband did this and I'm 19 weeks pregnant and haven't had any morning sickness and extreme symptoms. It takes two to tango...both parents need to do their part."
