Husband surprises wife with a girls’ night on her 60th birthday and her reaction is everything

Moms often prioritize taking care of their families and household chores over going out with their friends or taking some me-time. So when it comes to their birthdays or Mother's Day, what better gift than giving them some time away with their friends? That's what this family did and her reaction couldn't have been better.

In the video posted on Reddit by u/Dapper-Masterpiece, a mom can be seen taking a picture of a limousine outside her house. The text overlay on the clip reads, "She thought we were just going to a family dinner in style for her 60th birthday." Meanwhile, her husband and daughter can be seen pushing and telling her, "Go get in the car, you can take a picture after." She runs to the car and is surprised to see her friends inside sitting with a glass of champagne. 

When she realizes her husband has arranged a fancy night out with her girlfriends for her in honor of her special day, the mom starts shouting in excitement. 

The video has about 5k upvotes on Reddit and is captioned, "Such a beautiful surprise." People on the internet loved the surprise planned for the woman. u/HowLNo commented, "Wow! Her reaction was cute." u/general-ad-8850 wrote, "Legit looks like a really fun group of ladies. The type of girls you can have a great weekend with without judgment. Every mom deserves much time with their friends, it helps them socialize and refresh themselves after working so hard. 

In another similar story, two moms came up with an idea that gives them enough time with their husbands by swapping childcare duties once a month. 

In a TikTok video posted by Jess, who goes by @applesauceandadhd on the platform, she says: “It’s childcare swap night, which means that I’m at my friend Emily’s house. I fed her kids dinner, put them to bed, and now I’m waiting for her and her husband to get home from their date. And I told them to stay out as late as possible please, because last time they didn’t. We made them reservations at a tiki bar downtown and then they’re going to the movies.”

She goes on to share that they do this once a month. "So, I come over and watch her kids, put them to bed and do all the bedtime routines. My husband stays home with my kids, and then in the future, she’ll do the same to me," Jess explains in the video.

After they put their kids to bed, the moms also clean each other's houses. “While we do this, [we] try to pick up each other’s house and just leave it better than we found it. It doesn’t feel like a break if you don’t come home to a cleaner home," she adds.

“If you have friends with kids, you need to childcare swap,” Jess states. “It’s so nice to reconnect with your spouse and be something other than just a mom."
