Hotel's spot-on 'Office' prank on Rainn Wilson captures the essence of the show's humor, earning laughs from fans.
Fans of the popular TV show "The Office" are well aware of the iconic dynamic between Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). Their tumultuous relationship features numerous hilarious and mischievous pranks by Jim, with Dwight frequently portrayed as utterly helpless against these antics. The beloved series concluded on May 16, 2013. One of the more memorable pranks played by Jim was when he put Dwight's stapler in Jell-O. A short clip of the comedic scene has been shared on YouTube, where it has amassed 4 million views and 61K likes.
The Jell-O prank is particularly memorable because it sets the precedent for both Jim and Dwight's characters and the unique relationship between them. In the video, Michael (Steve Carell) introduces the new office intern, Ryan (B.J. Novak), and eventually reaches Dwight's desk. He opens up his drawer to show Ryan pictures only to discover that his stapler is in Jell-O. Dwight begins to overreact and is furious at Jim, who is very happy with his prank. As Micheal tells Jim that he must not put Dwight's thing in Jell-O, he hilariously comments, "Okay. Dwight, I'm sorry. I've always been your biggest flan."
Ryan adds to it by saying, "You should've put him in custardy." Dwight however, does not find it funny and expresses concern for potential damage to company property. Michael casually dismisses these concerns, attempting to lighten the mood with a joke. The show contains many other pranks, but this one essentially sets the tone for the rest of the show. Even after the show ended, it continues to be a hit among people, with many still making references to it today.
Rainn Wilson got a surprising twist with his room service order at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi in Italy. A closer look reveals that his fork and knife were amusingly embedded in red Jell-O. The post has 67K likes, 3.1K comments and 3.1K shares. The caption reads, "This is what happened when I ordered room service at my hotel in Florence."
People loved the hotel's little prank on Wilson and shared their thoughts about it in the comments section. Lauren Candler said, "I love how much time they took to do so! Jell-O needs a few hours to turn into, well, Jell-O! Well done, Florence!" Alex Pearson commented, "It took me so long to realize that the red stuff is Jell-O. I thought it was a container for silverware. Somebody said, 'Rainn's here. I'm putting this in the fridge tonight just in case he orders room service tomorrow.'" Mark Knell highlighted, "That is some serious attention to detail, coupled with really knowing their customer."
