Nagging is one of the biggest turn-offs when one is relaxing on a vacation. Unfortunately, females have to contend with it many times. Therefore, in order to give women a safe space where they do not have to handle unwanted attention from the opposite gender, a hotelier in China has decided to set up an establishment that welcomes only female guests, as per Insider. The hotelier identified only by her surname Lu told Sohu Qianliyan the reasoning behind her decision. It was because a female at one of her other establishments faced a disastrous consequence as a result of social interaction with a male.

This social interaction led to a fling with the man that turned out to be a fraudster. At present, Lu owns four inns at Lijiang. She informed that the woman visited the place in order to heal from her previous relationship that had recently ended. She had no intention of entering into a fling but because of the setup she chose to put herself in, the fraudster was able to approach her and establish a relationship.

Lu shared how the fraudster's reality came to the surface, "When the two of them left Lijiang together, this man hadn't even gotten off the plane when the police arrested him, and then she found out he was a scam artist". The hotelier felt very sad for the woman as she came to Lijang in order to have a good time and go back with a positive mindset, but instead, she had to deal with this daunting incident.

This pushed Lu to make a homestay that exclusively welcomes female guests. In her opinion, this will give women an environment where they would not feel the pressure to socially deal with men. They also would not need to keep their sixth senses open all the time in order to distinguish between males that want a long relationship and those that are searching for a fling. They would not need to constantly be on their toes and keep their guards open. This will also give the females a sense of security in their movement and make the holiday a time when they can truly be themselves without any inhibitions.

This step was also taken by Lu to protect Lijang's reputation. Lijang is known as an idyllic tourist destination in China known for making people fall in love with each other and the scenic beauty. But if incidents like what happened with the woman become a common occurrence, then it would get difficult to maintain the reputation. Lu wants the city to thrive and its tourism business to blossom. Therefore she is trying to take every measure possible to ensure that people want to keep coming back to the beautiful town and hence has arranged for such an establishment.
