'I do have better things to do. But I am so petty that I have made this my new life mission...' she said.

A study conducted by Rocket Mortgage surveyed more than 1,000 Americans living within HOA-governed neighborhoods and found 57% of homeowners dislike having an HOA. In fact, 10% of homeowners have had such a negative experience that they even consider selling their properties to avoid HOA-related dramas. A woman, Amanda, who goes by @corporate.amanda on TikTok, was also served a bizarre notice by her HOA for a particular sign in her yard. The association had schooled her, apparently because it was offensive. However, Amanda refused to follow their order and, instead, responded with petty revenge.

The sign in her backyard read, "Mister Rogers did not adequately prepare me for the HOA." Potentially referring to the 1968 to 2001 show, 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood,' Fred Rogers treated every child with the utmost respect, banking on their intelligence instead of belittling it. Amanda, growing up with that notion of a neighborhood, was completely stunned to find the reality to be starkly different. Her sign didn't sit well with the HOA community, and they served Amanda with a notice to remove it. Now, here comes the twist! Amanda knew her HOA community hadn't been active for some time. "The board thinks that they are [active but] they haven't filed the appropriate items with the state to continue being active year over year. They have not held their annual meetings. They do not take the minutes that they can provide to the members, but still, they think they are active," she said.
Amanda knew that her HOA community, since it was not active, couldn't drag her to court for any violations. "I know that they can't technically do anything. They can't even represent themselves in the court because they aren't an entity at this time," she added. So, instead of following the community's order, Amanda decided to do something mischievous. She spent almost a week driving around her neighborhood and taking pictures of all the violations of the HOA community board members. Next, she said, she also makes sure to send those pictures to the board members via mail. "I actually have a full-time job, and I am a mom, and I am in school, so I do have better things to do. But I am so petty that I have made this my new life mission," Amanda confessed.

Amanda also confirmed that her HOA community hadn't responded to her emails for the last six days. "I also sent them a request for the last five years, I mean, all their minutes, how they have established their board, which technically they didn't do correctly. I already know the answers to all these. They haven't done an audit. They haven't done the things they are supposed to do," she added. Meanwhile, reacting to Amanda's video, @jenniferhouse00 commented, "I'm living vicariously through you! Continue living your best petty life!" @tay_m_19 wrote, "I work for an attorney’s office that represents HOAs, and you’re absolutely right! If they got an attorney, that’d be the 1st thing they’d notice!" @arlomrpickles confessed, "I am about to do the same thing because I'm tired of the letters for nothing. I had one weed in my yard. I have pictures, what the hell! Similarly, @tc_mcdaniel1010 wrote, "Omg! I need to message you and pick your brain about this issue. We are having issues with our HOA." @miniacresfarm2 commented, "I am here for your pettiness. We are on the same level."
