The spoof video uploaded by Toby (@tobyfrombath) on TikTok has garnered over 3.2 million views, and people can’t stop talking about it.
Getting in shape is of course easier said than done, and yet the internet seemingly can't stop talking about all the ways one can achieve the perfect "beach body." With the rise of fitness influencers and their brands, it's hardly a surprise that a good part of our screen time is reserved for these ads. Which is why a hilarious and refreshing take on the same subject took off on social media. A spoof video uploaded by Toby (@tobyfrombath) on TikTok, garnered over 3.2 million views and people can't stop talking about it. In a humorous antithesis to typical health advice ads and videos, the vox-pop-style clip shows Toby asking @alnashcomedy how he "got so out of shape."
"Hi I ask out-of-shape people how they got so out of shape, and I was just wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about how you cultivated this physique," Toby asks Alnash. Alnash goes on to answer the question with a straight face. "Absolutely! I'd say, focus on like beige food," he says, referring to fried food like chicken wings, onion rings and french fries. "General every day try to eat like some kind of mad medieval king," Alnash adds. Toby then goes on to ask him about what he would be having for dinner. "Rotisserie chicken!" Alnash says. "Any kind of large, roasted meat," he adds. Alnash then talks about the importance of cheese and the irrelevance of the base food, saying: "To be honest, the base food is immaterial, anything that you can melt a load of cheese is always a bit of a winner."
Toby replies, "You're looking terrible today," like it was a compliment and Alnash thanks him for the words. Toby then goes on to ask him his age, "How old are you? 30?" he says. "I am 31," Alnash reveals. "Obviously you look a lot older," Toby says, and Alnash quickly agrees before he says, "That's kind of the beauty of being really out of shape, is that it does age you massively!" Lastly, Toby asks him if there's anything else he would like to add. "I'd just say eat more and move less!" Alnash adds. Toby is then seen feeding Alnash a donut after saying, "Here's just to say, thank you."
The comment section was in stitches. "Actually laughed out loud with this one," wrote @amber. "I started cackling at the medieval king bit," added @Lizzy. Many people compared the spoof video to old British TV shows. "This is how British TV shows used to be... ah the good old times," wrote @rachichix. "British humor is my fave type of humor," added @donotperceivemethanksx. @Alnashcomedy also took to the comment section and joked, "I was unaware this was being filmed." Many also talked about how bizarre the video was, which added to the humor, "This was wild to watch bro even as a skit" commented @vasanaeternally.
