Teachers frequently receive emails from students and parents, and it is reasonable to expect a certain level of respect and formality in their communication. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, as exemplified by some emails received by a high school teacher. Jordan Baechler—who goes by @mrbaechler on TikTok—shared these emails and they are hilarious and prove how much kids have changed with time. The video went viral and explained the engaging relationship between the teacher and his teachers.

The video begins with Baechler's picture and overlay text that reads, "Some of the ridiculous emails I get as a High School Teacher." He then shares some screenshots of the emails he has received. The first one reads, "Why did you give homework today? That was unnecessary." The next one says, "Did I miss anything important in class today, or were you just talking?"

The other ones read, "Look B, you'll gain my respect if you cancel this quiz tomorrow!!!!! Or at least not let Rachel and Mariam take it," "Please open one of the blinds. It hurts my eyes to watch a bright screen in the dark," "Fam, you teaching here next year???" and "Time is the thing today? Please, answer quickly."

One of the longer emails says, "Hey Baechler, sorry about the quiz, man, totally screw that up. Can I please get my updated mark to tell my parents please and thank you. All the best. Go Eagles got my parlay on them this week. Thanks a lot."

There are more. "Hey, Mr. Baechlr, as you've probably heard, I've been very sick over the last week, I'm still a little sick, but my parents and I agreed I should no longer be contagious. So tomorrow I will in fact be in class ready to perform" and "Hey, Imagine how awesome it would be if you like, haha, pretended I didn't get that one question wrong and like, haha, took off my worst mark."

People in the comments section were surprised to see these emails from students. @blckmrkbaklava commented, "You must be chill because I wouldn’t even dream of sending emails like these to my teachers back in the day." @lysssssssssss_ wrote, "As a millennial, it’s so funny to me that kids can just email their teachers any time now. We had to wait and talk to them after class in my day lol."

Baechler made a second part of the video and shared more emails that he got from his students. The emails read, "You're away and we have to read 15 pages. That's crazy," "I know you already said no extensions, but can I have an extension?" "How do you spell your last name?" "I'll be late, don't make a scene like you always do, please my alarm didn't go off" and "Hello, I heard there is a movie this week, can it please be legally blonde? It really gets my mind thinking about law and I'm sure it will do the same for everyone else. Thanks."
