While the original interview dealt with serious issues including racism, suicide, and toxic families, the memes poked fun at the royal family.
Is anything even real if it doesn't get the meme treatment? Oprah Winfrey's interview of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has been the toast of the internet this week. It touched upon a range of issues including deep-rooted racism, toxic family bonds, sexism, the monarchy, and more. Meghan Markle revealed that when she was pregnant, some member/s of the royal family had “concerns and conversations” about what the color of her baby's skin would be. The actor also said that Prince Harry and her were informed that their son Archie wouldn't be given the title of Prince, which also denied him security. This was a break from tradition. Markle also revealed that she contemplated suicide after being ostracized as a member of the royal family and for being a constant target of the tabloids.
While the nature of the interview in itself was very serious, the internet couldn't help but give it the meme treatment. Oprah Winfrey's shocked expression at each revelation had a separate fan base in itself. The interview spawned a million memes since it debuted on CBS last Sunday. Not to mention the Piers Morgan memes that popped up over the past few days over his rant against Meghan Markle, before eventually walking off the set of his own show and then resigning from his job. Nothing was off-limits as the internet poked fun at pretty much everything under the sun. Here are some of the best we've come across.
