When Kaylz's father visited Shelly's father to sort out the situation, he refused to accept that his daughter was a bully, let alone be respectful
When Kaylz (@kaylz_614) was a teenager, a girl from a neighboring school made her life difficult by making false accusations. In a 2-part TikTok video series posted on August 13, 2026, Kaylz recalled how her ex's former girlfriend, Shelly, accused her of threatening her and got her kicked out of school. Years later, after she passed away, her dad showed up at Kaylz’s workplace and repented for what happened. Her videos have since received over one million views combined.

The story dates back to Kaylz's high school. Struggling to make friends, she insisted her parents transfer her to the neighboring school where her boyfriend studied. Initially, her parents weren't sure, but they eventually agreed and helped with the transfer. Kaylz assumed she would finally enjoy a better social life until school called her to the office two days later and told her she couldn't attend anymore. "Basically they say, 'Hey girl, you can't go here.' And I'm like, huh? Like, what do you, what do you mean? I'm enrolled. I'm in classes," she recalled. As it turned out, a girl's parent complained to school management that Kaylz was threatening their daughter.

This so-called victim was Shelly, Kaylz's boyfriend's ex. Coincidentally, Shelly's father had studied in the same school as Kaylz's dad, and the two didn't get along very well. When Kaylz's father visited him to sort out the situation, Shelly's dad refused to accept that his daughter was a bully, let alone be respectful. By that time, Kaylz had missed a lot of her school term. So they gave up fighting and switched her back to her old school.
Meanwhile, Shelly kept on bragging to everyone that she got Kaylz kicked out of the school. So, Kaylz and nine of her friends decided to settle the score. They got money from their parents and bought a large supply of toilet paper rolls. With the rolls, they toilet-papered Shelly's house. By midnight, everyone’s parents got calls from the police. Shelly had identified their group on the security cameras. The matter quieted down, but soon, Kaylz ended up breaking up with her boyfriend.

After graduation, Kaylz was admitted to a hair school. Guess who turned up there? Shelly, the same girl. Before she could stir up any drama, Kaylz told her dad, and the two of them told everything to the school staff. They promised to not kick her out this time. Good for her that the Shelly soon became a volunteer for the Mormon mission, which means Kaylz could peacefully complete the hair school before she returned. Just before her farewell, Shelly revealed that she wasn’t going on the mission because she had cancer. Soon after, she passed away but Kaylz didn’t go to her funeral, thinking it'd be "weird" considering their history.

Her manager insisted that she take her despite their personal history. While she was dressing up his hair, he said, “I have a lot of regrets about how things played out in the past, but I've had a really hard time since Shelly passed, and you had every reason to be unkind to me today, and I just want to thank you for being so kind. I'm glad that you're doing well, and I hope that we can look at this as water under the bridge.”
Like Shelly’s dad, it is difficult for any parent to know that their child is a bully. According to an Omnibus survey, cited by YouGov, 66% of the parents react with surprise when they first get to know about the bullying accusation. 7% initially assume that the accusation is a mistake. Later on, however, most of them regret raising their child wrongly, because 18% insist that their child apologize to the one they bullied. But 14% still admitted that they would never turn their children in to the authorities.

Many viewers were left in puddles after listening to Kaylz’s story. @cahyuht commented, “I think it was appropriate for you to skip the funeral! I would’ve done the same. I’m glad you got some closure with the dad.” In response to Kaylz’s question about whether she’s cold-hearted for not going to Shelly’s funeral, @tae.xtae replied, “Not cold at all. I personally wouldn’t want someone I don’t like and doesn’t like me at my funeral. Funerals are meant for loved ones to grieve.”
