Being related to a superstar might seem like a dream come true, but it can come with its own set of challenges—just ask Henry Cavill’s nephew, Thomas. The actor, best known for playing "Superman," revealed that his nephew ran into trouble at school simply for being related to him. In a 2018 interview on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Cavill shared a hilarious story about Thomas that had the audience laughing.

During "talk about your family day" at school, Thomas proudly told his class, "My uncle is Superman." His classmates were stunned, and no one believed him. Despite being truthful, Thomas was called out by his teacher, who said, "Thomas, we don’t lie in school." Confused, Thomas stuck to his story: "My uncle is Superman," he insisted.

Apparently, Superman, who is notorious for sacrificing his own life to save children, put his own nephew in trouble at school. Obviously, the teacher "got upset with him," and decided to talk to his mother and Cavill's sister-in-law when she came to pick Thomas up from school. She explained the whole incident to his mother and said that they don't encourage children to lie in front of everyone at school. Thomas' mother patiently told the teacher, "I hate to tell you this, but it’s all true." That would have been a remarkable day for both the teacher and young Thomas.

The story went viral on the internet with people finding it extremely hilarious and adorable. The interview excerpt has over 7 million views and thousands of comments from his fans. One person wrote, "If my uncle was Superman I would brag about it every day." Another added, "I hope the teacher replied by saying, 'I'm going to need you to prove that by bringing his uncle to see me.' "

Just like Cavill's nephew, all children have a fascination with movie stars and this adorable incident proves it. Journalist James Dator took to Twitter as he recalled meeting Keanu as a 16-year-old. He wrote, "Keanu came to the movie theater I worked at in Sydney in 2001. He was working on the Matrix series at the time. It's a quiet, Wednesday morning — almost nobody is seeing movies." He added that as he was working the box office he saw Reeves walk in. Dator, like every other fan, was taken aback by his appearance. Reeves informed the then-teenager that he was there to see the film "From Hell," starring Johnny Depp.

In an attempt to get his signature, he offered Reeves him employee discount as for that he was required to sign in a register. Unfortunately, Reeves, being the gentleman that he is, respectfully declined the offer, stating that he did not work at the movie theater and hence could not be entitled to the employee discount. However, a few minutes later there Reeves returned and said, "I realized you probably wanted my autograph. So I signed this." It was a receipt from a concession stand, Reeves had bought an ice cream just so that he could give the teenager his autograph.
